  • The AI is trash

The AI that is used for the game is way better then the AI used to auto play for the player example Gaia is summoned and a bottomless trap hole is on the field and the player AI doesn’t use it

This app has been associated with other apps such as Tik-Tok for sharing your data with “certain” governments that Tik-Tok has been accused of sharing data with. Every time you open this app it records your location and a user profile is built on you with this data to impact user experience. If you choose to download the app, be very careful and use at your own risk. Stay safe everyone!!!

Before I get into the review I must go ahead and preface this by saying; It is undisputed just how great Duel Links is for new players who are iffy about making that jump to yugioh and want to start with something simpler first. The game is a great way to be introduced while still going over the majority of concepts while leaving more to be discovered by any player who wants to bridge off from duel links into master duel or any of the other online yugioh platforms. Now for the body of this review, “what does it take to actually play duel links?” To answer your question, an ungodly amount of time. This is hands down one of the worst gacha systems i’ve ever seen. the packs are absolutely PADDED with filler to make getting the cards you actually want much harder. Now the good part, yes it’s terrible, but it isn’t as bad as it could be. the packs have innate pity in a sense of at some point you will run out of cards in a box and have to reset the box in order to pull again, which also means if you get lucky and get the card you need early, you can reset the box early to start pulling again with a chance at getting another copy, however the drawback is that in order to do so you have to also add all the filler useless trash back into the box as well. This is the reason why if you look online at decks they have price points that say ludicrous amounts of gems + however many real dollars because yes there are plenty of shortcuts for the paying customer. Now let’s talk about the illusion of F2P’s viability. We already discussed how many crystals it takes to make a competitively viable deck being well into the 30-40k+ range, and that’s factoring in you spent money wherever you could to make it better, so me telling you they give out a ton of free gems doesn’t help you at all. but the other way they feed you this illusion is with the ticket system. Every now and then they give away tons of “Free card tickets” that can be redeemed for a card of their respective rarity. Sounds good right, the problem is these tickets are only usable for a select pool of cards, VAST majority of which are useless to just about everyone unless you really want 25 copies of dark magician. To summarize it we have predatory monetization, terrible gacha system, useless free rewards, and really pay to not grind rewards. Again it goes without saying that this game is a fantastic way to segway people into yugioh, but that assumes the player is perfectly fine using preset decks just to see what the character that uses them is like. if you want to branch off just go play master duel, the card dismantling system makes the terrible gacha system infinitely better because if you don’t pull a card you need you can dismantle cards of the same rarity that you don’t need and use those materials to outright craft the card you want. Night and Day.

I put $100’s of dollars into this game just for them to “lose” my data. I’m no longer going to use this game, you’ve lost a paying customer. While it’s fun, it’s not worth the risk of losing an extensive game save.

level 30 opponents frequently start with game-ending hands, already able to draw their strongest fusion monster (esp Mokuba). anything is possible but it shouldn't be a 1 in 3 chance that a duel ends before it even starts. Edit: more like 2 in 3 it just happened again immediately after the last duel, with an even stronger hand. don't make a "win 3 in a row vs lv 30 character" "challenge" when it's not a challenge, it's just a test of patience and playing again and again and grinding keys until the oppenent happens to not get a game-ending handing first hand for three duels in a row. it's ridiculous

This game is designed to get you to dish out money. In order for you to be remotely “good” in PvP, you basically have to have the latest meta or ultra rare cards hidden in card packs in which you have to pay for. I know that you do get free gems or whatever, but they update the meta every month so you’re forced to play the meta in order to be competitive. Otherwise, you’ll be at 10-25% win rate in the KC cup or ranked duels. Which by the way, lately feel like you are playing AI with players’ submitted decks. Because no matter what decks you play, the artificial intelligence ALWAYS , and I mean always have the right cards at the right time. And if you decide, like me, to copy the AI deck and then use them in ranked, the same thing happens over and over. And the weird things is that you’ll see decks that are not meta and very unusual but still somehow beat you all the time. (O_o)

Decided to give the card game a try after years. Game has a decent tutorial that refreshes your memory about tributing two cards to summon a 5 star monster which takes at least three turns. So i get into the PVP section of the game and have guys summoning THREE! Level 10 cards cards on turn one against me! Im not learning this new fancy pants “synchrozations” im trying magic next
