Google Assistant

Now with Microsoft CoPilot app, I have a real assistant that actual delivers on the promises Google made and never delivered. Microsoft CoPilot with ChatGPT 4 is awesome as an assistant. He no Google Gemini.

My home mini used to work great but the last year has been useless. Alarms wake up my entire apartment because it plays so loud that it can’t hear me “HEY GOOGLE TURN OFF THE ALARM”(x4-5 before I just unplug it and throw it across the room and effectively choosing violence to start my day). I’ll also add it’s about 6ft from my head so not only is the volume level ridiculous but it should definitely be able to hear me. I ask it to turn off the lights it dings… then nothing happens. Even programmed routines are done wrong. She plays sleep sounds when I say “goodnight” (meant to just turn off all my lights). Just today I’m watching a class lecture on my tv and she’s still playing the sleep sounds at 2pm. I’ve started talking to it like a small child, “hey Google, turn off the countryside sleep sounds that YOUR playing from YOUR speaker”, “ok turning off the tv.” And there goes the lecture video that I had to set up screenplay for. Like how on earth does that translate. In the words of Kelly Kapoor, “if I made a website with this many problems I’d kill myself.” It gets things right maybe 10% of the time. Reason to stay vegan for me is counteracting how much this thing has raised my blood pressure. I’ve been using the apps for my lights more and more and might just trash the thing. I could walk around and turn the lights on faster than this thing can figure out what day of the week it is. Also just found out it stopped automating my lights (had it turn everything off when my location wasn’t home) and have been just pissing away electricity trusting this device. Save your money and your mental health and either see if Alexa is any better or go catch yourself a pet rock.

Googles assistant to s a hot mess, making so many mistakes,like not catching on to small but daily idiosyncrasy s of mine , what I need it TO DO FOR ME. worse than in uncaring spouse that I almost don’t want it. It doesn’t listen ….oh let me sum it up. It’s taken on the personality’s of the creators I’ll bet. Talking back, not listening, refusing to cooperate with repeated SAME question, if it doesn’t LIKE the question , refusing to obey orders it’s spoiled and fussy and often falls asleep when I need to to wake up, won’t until I practically knock it off the table by accident touching the screen that hard. The Google Assistant , my first one has way less uncomputer like personalities. , like a wrongly picked partner who was nice at first and then it’s real personality comes out and it’s mean sloppy rude and not even that smart. I want a divorce.

There’s a glitch that’s been running for years where you use the shortcut key on the iPhone 15 or using Siri to activate Google assistant sometimes causes Google Assistant not to be able to listen to you. And only way to solve it is to completely close out the appand re-launch it.

Again am back this did not stop for me from using this. Hey Google i still think it’s awesome and i know it’s only going to get better. Yes amazing and totally awesome that you all created this and made it happen. Thank you Google as a company as a staff and as community oriented app Keep up the great work.

Google Assistant is wonderful, customizable & everything I need! The only thing missing is powering this Google assistant app with Gemini AI. I prefer it to be built into this Assistant app versus the regular Google search app. Google, please make this happen!
