Description

UpLift is the first self-help app for depression and anxiety of its kind. It's based on Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, tested, and shown to work. "I have already had my eyes opened to so many new tools in only one forty minute session with the app." "Thank you so much. I'm seriously about to cry because today's session was so important and useful to me." *SCIENCE* A pilot study of 80 UpLift users showed that in just 1 month, those who stuck with the program had nearly a 50% reduction in depression scores that lasted, as well as a 37% reduction in anxiety scores. (1) UpLift was developed by expert psychologists and leaders from the field of mobile mental health. It's based on Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, which has been used to treat people with anxiety and depression for over 30 years. *SESSIONS* UpLift provides you with 11 interactive psychology sessions that are around 45 minutes long each week. In the sessions, you'll be answering questions, doing self care exercises, and getting customized feedback and guidance to strengthen your well-being. Here are some of the sessions you'll work through: - The Emotional Equation - Positive Activities - Lies Depression Tells You - Recognizing Thought Errors - Confronting Thought Errors After the sessions, you'll unlock tools in your toolbox. *MOOD TRACKER* UpLift includes a free Mood Journal, otherwise known as a mood diary. Use it to track your emotions, thoughts, and behaviors, and watch your progress on your mood chart. *TOOLBOX* The toolbox contains tools that enable you to apply the skills you learn in the sessions to your daily life. Here's a sample of some of the tools you'll unlock with UpLift: - Problem Solver - Daily Mood Tracking - Trigger Plan - Thought Errors - Anger Management - Goal Trainer - Mood Boosters *COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL THERAPY* Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a type of psychotherapy based on the idea that modifying thought and behavior patterns was more important than understanding the psychological origins of behavior. Because this type of counseling does not require the presence of a therapist, attempts were soon made to automate the process, first with “bibliotherapy” (CBT self-help books), and then with “CCBT,” or Computerized Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. UpLift is a new generation of CCBT (now called “iCBT”). UpLift uses our own proprietary programming technology to make it dynamic and responsive and modern UX design to make it a pleasure to use, while maintaining tried-and-proven CBT methods at it's heart. *PRICING* UpLift is free to download and the first session is free of charge. You can unlock all of the sessions and the entire toolkit via an auto-renewing subscription with a 7 day free trial. Payment will be charged to your iTunes Account at confirmation of purchase. Your subscription of 1 year will automatically be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the same subscription length and price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your subscription may be managed and auto-renewal may be turned off by going to your Account Settings after purchase. *TERMS & PRIVACY* Terms of Service: https://www.uplift.app/termsofuse Privacy Policy: https://www.uplift.app/privacypolicy *CONTACT* Email - support@uplift.app Facebook - www.facebook.com/UpLiftTheApp Twitter - www.twitter.com/UpLiftTheApp (1) - Liu, E., & Pluta, A., & Dobson, K. • Don’t help the researchers for this app

I was asked to help researchers by using the app and was never paid. They basically got free data for their glitchy app. Don’t use if directed by a research team. They DO NOT pay you!

It’s a great app, but unfortuantly half the time I try to make an entry, I get a blank screen

Tried to reach out to resolve a billing issue - have never heard back. Seems like there’s no way to reach anyone & once they have your money - they’re happy to be unreachable.
  • Bugged to the point of being unusable

Can’t use most of the app. Blank screens, connection error messages, inescapable loops of “tap-to-open-the-thing-to-try-to-open-it-get-notification-tap-ok-return-to-thing-tap-the-thing-to-try-to-open-it…” Frustrating. Trying to use this app almost always makes me feel worse, not better. Maybe the content is good. I wouldn’t know.
  • Tedious and Useless

The only part that made me feel better was when I deleted it.
  • Intrusive, glib, and disregards input

This app is not designed for people who have problems that exist outside their own thoughts. It’s definitely not trauma-informed, and has no way to support people who try the exposure therapy it recommends. It doesn’t even have a way to determine what kinds of things a person is avoiding, yet still recommends exposure therapy. The responses from the program are not help and disregard user’s answers. I’m trying to live gracefully with a painful, degenerative illness. This app is NOT: -Trauma informed -Considerate of people with disabilities or living with other extreme circumstances such as abuse, civil unrest, or poverty. -Designed to give an appropriate response to input. Regardless of how you respond, it gives unhelpful prompts assuming your emotions are based on a “thought error.” Claims (sans source) that the majority of all low moods are based on thought errors. Based on what peer reviewed studies? This app does: -Make fun of you for having a low mood. It’s response to me feeling low today because I received devastating medical news was, “Did you call out of work today and stare at a piece of corn on the floor?” Then implored me to find the thought error on which my mood is based after I answered twice that my low mood is NOT based on a thought error. -Continue sending prompts after I deleted the app.

I loved the app but couldn’t access the sessions due to a glitch. I reached out to App support twice via email, the App Store, and on their social media page. No response. Download only if you really like throwing away $99.

I like the layout and how this app is supposed to guide you through CBT. I paid for the premium subscription to access all features and was really excited to get started! But there were a few app issues I would run into (like not being able to proceed to the next module after finishing the one). I emailed the support email multiple times with no replies for assistance with the issue. So after 2 weeks I canceled my subscription and deleted the app. Shame.

This app is really incredible. I don’t have enough good things to say about it. This is the first review I'm writing for an app, that says a lot for me! It’s been helping me tremendously as I navigate through a lot right now. Thank you to everyone who contributed tomaking this happen. I hope many people get to use it and see their days getting better.

I did not finish the introduction part and then the application froze. I’m trying to uninstall and reinstall and will update review with progress.
