  • Endless loop

I’ve been trying to reset my password. There’s a bug in the system or something. It takes me to this page that asks for my email, I give it my email, it sends an email, I put in a 6 digit verification code. It asked me if I want to verify with persona, I say no because I don’t want to take an extra 15 mins reading the terms and conditions for persona. It then redirects me to the sign in screen. I click the “forgot password” button and the whole process repeats. This needs fixing
  • NEW Restrictions on free accounts makes it nearly impossible to use without paying

Unemployed or recently laid off…beware!!! LinkedIn now restricts your account to 5 personalized connection requests per month. Good luck trying to network with companies where most people ignore default requests due to so many spam accounts. It renders this platform nearly useless unless you pay $40 a month. I contacted support who claimed they were performing a “test” on various groups, but this is without user consent. LinkedIn did not contact users with Terms & Conditions update regarding this, which is illegal. Shame on you LinkedIn/Microsoft for taking advantage of people’s employment misfortune!

I wish I could give a negative review for every “promoted job” I have ever seen.

  • Reflections on an Evolving App and Security Concerns

Over the past two years, this app has seen significant growth in content and learning opportunities. As someone at a certain stage in my career, I’ve had both positive and less favorable experiences. Currently, the benefits seem to outweigh the drawbacks, but there remain some valid concerns. One area of concern is social media. While I’m inclined to believe that LinkedIn offers more positives than negatives, it still requires substantial improvements. Many users might share my apprehensions about social media in general. Striking a balance between leveraging social platforms for professional growth and avoiding potential pitfalls is crucial. Now, let’s delve into security. The app’s security settings deserve praise—features like pass-keys, two-factor authentication, and support for multiple email addresses are commendable. It’s essential to maintain this level of vigilance. However, there’s a recurring issue: the frequent “password reset” emails from LinkedIn. Unlike any other company I’ve engaged with, this app and its associated website collect and share data (including personally identifiable information). As a user, I scrutinize these notifications carefully. And to let you the reader of this review know: No, I did not, and am not the requestor asking do you have my password reset. The frequency I get these email notifications, is high. Until this matter is adequately addressed, I hesitate to comment further. In summary, while security measures are commendable, the persistent password reset emails raise concerns. Let’s hope the app continues to prioritize security while addressing user feedback.
  • Too many scam recruiters

LinkedIn apparently has no oversight on the number of scam artists using it, and it’s leading me to conclude that it’s not a safe tool to use anymore. While fraud often operates on a spectrum of misleading information on pay for work to outright identity theft, the sheer number of unverified accounts that are able to act as recruiters is unacceptable. The number of fake calls I receive from foreign countries, and fake text messages I receive phishing for information now is unacceptable, and frankly at a time when AI can steal someone’s voice or image via zoom call, it shows how unprofessional and unprepared LinkedIn is for these threats. Especially when their priority is more focused on collecting demographics of ‘race’ and ‘gender identity’ over actual citizenship identity verification and fraud prevention. Shame on you LinkedIn. Do better.
  • Warning⚠️⚠️ for everyone

Do not enable 2FA with your phone number in this platform. They never send you the sms code even though the page says “we’ve sent you another code”. I waited 48 hours of my last attempt but I wasn’t surprised that I didn’t get the code. Developers you did a great job. Fix the header before fixing the bodies. If you are reading this send my message to your product team. Remove the two-factor authentication or fix the problem with the sms code.

I would rate LinkedIn a 5/5 if it wasn’t for the lack of communication and delay in activating my premium LinkedIn
  • No point.

Such a waste of time in my opinion.
  • Broken app

This app is useless because it won’t let me sign in. It tries to verify me with a CAPTCHA, tells me I was successful, and then responds with “missing or invalid” CAPTCHA response code error message. UPDATE: Uninstalling and reinstalling the app fixed my issue. I added some stars back to my rating, but be aware this is a buggy app.
