Description

LINES will help you save time and money during your Universal Orlando trip. Because we’re independent travel writers, we can tell you what Universal can’t, from actual waits in line, to which park will be less crowded every day of your trip. LINES features include: -Both Universal’s currently posted wait time at every attraction and how long you’ll REALLY wait in line, based on our experience and that of thousands of families on the same ride. -New “Ride Now” and “Wait to Ride” recommendations to show whether waits are going up or down at your favorite rides. -Customized step-by-step touring plans for both Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure parks, including The Wizarding World of Harry Potter areas. You tell LINES which rides you want to see, and LINES will create a step-by-step itinerary showing when to go to each ride to avoid long lines. You can even change your plans while you’re in the park! -A Crowd Calendar showing you how busy each park will be over the next ten days. -Universal’s official app doesn’t show you the waits for many attractions or character greetings. LINES has wait times for more rides, shows, and character greetings than even Universal’s own app. -Ask questions and get fast answers from our online community of 120,000 theme park experts. -Menus and prices for every restaurant, kiosk, food stand, and cart in all of Universal Orlando Resort – more than 4,500 things to eat! Every menu is searchable – you can find every steak in Islands of Adventure or throughout the parks, CityWalk, and the official Universal Orlando Resort Hotels! Our theme park trip planning tools have been featured in USA Today, the New York Times, FOX News and dozens of other newspapers, magazines, television and radio shows. Since 1986, we’ve helped more than 3 million families plan their vacations. Note: Some LINES features, such as the crowd calendar and wait times, require an in-app subscription purchase to access. Other LINES features, such as customized touring plans, menus, and viewing chat forums, are completely free. Your in-app subscription includes 365 days of access to TouringPlans.com, the Web’s most popular subscription-based site for theme park trip planning.

  • Amazing Line Wizadry

I’ve used Touring Plans for years and it never fails to give the best park experience with amazingly accurate wait times. Highly suggest following the plan precisely and you’ll have a great day with minimal waits.
  • Not user friendly

Love the crowd calendar but the touring plans are just NOT user friendly. I cannot find a single plan that takes you thru the Harry Potter attractions from park to park. I can only select IOA or Studios.

This started with the The concept of unofficial guide of USF recommending the Lines app. I of course Found the WDW app and couldn’t navigate the app without a subscription to realize it was ONLY WDW. So now I have a subscription to both. Which I don’t need. Then I tried to use the tour plans. 2 day, 2 park. However they only say “2 day, 2 park, day 1, part 2”. What happened to Day 1, part 1? It wasn’t in the other park section (I checked both USF and IOA). Then I tried to make my own following the stops in the plan in the book but these custom plans don’t allow you to change the park to make your own 2-park guide. Also the most optimal time to ride Hagrids, on early admin hours is first and is still 75 minutes? Makes no sense. Then all the other rides that day have a 1-7 minute wait. I thought the early hours would allow my first ride to go faster? Too frustrating. I’m going to rid the guide out of the book and follow that. I now have spent $$ on two apps I won’t use. Fabulous.

Very helpful to save time and to have a general idea about the rides.

Our family has made many great memories at Disney and Universal! The places are truly magical! BUT, both (especially Disney) can be overwhelming. Huge crowds, huge expense, hot weather, rain, tired kids, tired adults, etc. I’ve used Touring Plans and Lines since 2015 and would not attempt a Disney or Universal trip without the aid of a personalized plan from TP and the up-to-the- minute intel from Lines. Takes the stress out of planning and you can make adjustments to your plans on the fly. Outstanding tools! Consistently accurate and very easy to use.

The Universal app is good but the Disney app is great! Why not update the Universal app to the same style and quality?
  • Incredible value for an app

Two years ago I took my girls to WDW and after researching a sane way to navigate that huge park, found this app. Because of our great experience with it, I knew this was going to be my go to for Universal Studios. My husband and I took our two kids ages 10 & 12 for a two day trip. This app was a great way to plan our days and get the best value out of our tickets. It even had more complete and accurate information than Universal’s own app. Ex: Hogwart’s night light show on the universal app just says varied show times. But this app clearly noted it was cancelled because the park closes before it gets dark enough for a light show. I confirmed this with the parks helpers, and Universal should indicate this on their app. The lines app website makes it easier to calculate time more accurately by allowing you to enter your walking pace and whether you want to prioritize walking less ( as opposed to squeezing in as many attractions as possible). There is also a rating system for all the attractions based on age of rider. That’s how I knew Pteranodon Flyers was not going to be fun for my 12 year old. Because of the excellent time estimates from this app for lines, I could time meals and reservations perfectly. Be sure to update completed attractions and refresh your plan as you go. I would still recommend downloading the Universal app for two reasons. First, you’ll be able to see the menus for park dining options, and use mobile ordering for some places (Leaky Cauldron but not Three Broomsticks) and second, there may be circumstances where the Universal app will have more up to date ride information. There was a light shower one afternoon and the Hagrid’s motorbike ride was delayed. This was reflected on the Universal app, but not this app. I didn’t believe the Universal app, but sure enough no one was allowed to queue up for Hagrid’s. In 2 days my husband and I did Velocicoaster, the hulk, rip ride rocket and dooms fear fall . With the kids we did these rides three times each: Hagrid’s motorbike, Forbidden journey, gringott’s. We did these twice each: Hogwart’s Express (each way), JP River adventure, Ripsaw falls, bilge rat barges, despicable me, MIB. And we did these once: Hippogriff, Ollivander’s, Reign of Kong, Spider man, Jimmy Fallon’s race, Pteranodon Flyer. We also got to spend plenty of leisure time in Universal street scenes, Diagon alley casting spells and exploring the shops, and ate at the leaky cauldron, three broomsticks and Mythos. Don’t be those people wandering aimlessly around, getting tired and cranky from waiting on lines, upset at missing attractions and not getting their moneys worth. This app and sunscreen are the most important things to take with you to Universal or WDW. Spend some time before you go to plan, be flexible when you’re there, and you’ll have a much more enjoyable time. We wish you a great experience!!

This app helped my family and me a lot. We went to Universal for spring break during Marti Gras, one of their busiest times. We were traveling with a 6-year-old and two special needs teens and had no clue that this would happen when we planned our trip months prior. Once we realized this, we knew that we needed a plan. So through lots of searching, we came across this app, and it was a lifesaver when it came down to knowing which rides would be the best ones to go on at a particular time. This saved us a lot of time. The only thing I had an issue with was the suggestion to get on the train and go to Islands of Adventure, then go back to Universal. ( We had the two park passes). We made our adjustment when it came to that part.
  • Must have for any amusement park (when available)

If there’s a lines app for the park I’m going to, I’m definitely using it! It has not steered me wrong. I used it in 2015 for Disney World and I used it in 2022 for Universal Studios Florida. My suggestion for the app team would be to be able to go to the ride details from the Touring Plan to see real time data and ride descriptor. I had to get out of my plan by going to the park and then finding the ride. Also, there should be a tab at the bottom for the days selected touring plan or just the present days plans. Just minor suggestions to help the user experience but I love the program! Top notch!

Loved Touring Plans for WDW! This is not that. This appears to be an old version of that. I wanted to make a Wizarding World plan but it will only let me pick one park per day on my personal plan. It’s difficult to navigate.
