Description

Rose, a sweet, lonely driving instructor in rural Ireland, is gifted with supernatural abilities. Rose has a love/hate relationship with her ‘talents’ & tries to ignore the constant spirit related requests from locals to exorcise possessed rubbish bins or haunted gravel. But, Christian Winter, a washed up, one-hit-wonder rock star, has made a pact with the devil for a return to greatness! He puts a spell on a local teenager, making her levitate. Her terrified father, Martin Martin, asks Rose to help save his daughter. Rose has to overcome the fear of her supernatural gift & work with Martin to save the girl, get the guy, and be home in time for a light snack, maybe a yogurt or something...

It’s a cozy comedy where a lady tries to hide her hereditary supernatural talents by giving driving lessons but ends up helping a widower who has gotten annoyed by his dead wife’s ghost. Also Will Forte plays a one hit wonder who like so many talentless men has decided to prey on young vulnerable women to try and avoid his personal mediocrity.

Can’t understand the high rating with Rotten Tomatoes for this movie.

This is the last film I saw in #NYC before #lockdown so it will always be special for me. I so enjoyed Maeve Higgins’ character - driving instructor Rose and her supernatural abilities, spotting #BoringNoreen, and learning a wee bit about “Hi there” #magpie superstitions. If you need to laugh until you cry I highly recommend Extra Ordinary!

Came for Will Forte, stayed for Maeve Higgins. If you like supernatural satanic content with understated humor, this film is for you. This has actually been my favorite film I've watched in 2020. It's fresh and funny and I can't recommend it enough.

A funny twist on the genre with a wonderful Irish cast and setting, Extra Ordinary takes familiar tropes of the genre and takes them to a new level of laughs. A fun watch!

This movie overall was very good and had lots of benefactors that other movies don’t. I really enjoyed the comedy because it genuinely made me laugh. I really enjoyed the film and reminded of old indie films. I would recommend if you are into that type of stuff. Overall it was very good

Saw this movie first at Lost Weekend and loved it immediately. The entire cast is amazing with brilliant comedic timing.
  • Charming and quick-witted

Absolutely charming and lovely - a kind of Irish ghost and medium version of What We Do In the Shadows (though the mockumentary aspect isn't as prominent). The humor is very subtle and quick and sometimes the accents can make it difficult to parse, but once you get into it and start paying real attention, it's absolutely hilarious. And the final twists... I was expecting the first but not the way the second was delivered. Wonderful!

Good jokes and comedy but just very boring. Get some American actors in there and a new director, it might be better
