Description

Behind our world, there is another: a world of dangerous and powerful monsters that rule their domain with deadly ferocity. When an unexpected sandstorm transports Captain Artemis (Milla Jovovich) and her unit (TI Harris, Meagan Good, Diego Boneta) to a new world, the soldiers are shocked to discover that this hostile and unknown environment is home to enormous and terrifying monsters immune to their firepower. In their desperate battle for survival, the unit encounters the mysterious Hunter (Tony Jaa), whose unique skills allow him to stay one step ahead of the powerful creatures. As Artemis and Hunter slowly build trust, she discovers that he is part of a team led by the Admiral (Ron Perlman). Facing a danger so great it could threaten to destroy their world, the brave warriors combine their unique abilities to band together for the ultimate showdown.

Look. I’m not one to be critical. I’m an optimist for even badly rated films. I’ll usually find the joy in it. Although with this one I just couldn’t stay quite. This film reminded me of the old Syfy channel with movies that were rushed, terrible cheesy plots and laughable acting. For once please listen to the bad reviews on this one. Don’t spend or waste your time.

It was entertaining. There was a lot of action and special effects. This movie is not for everyone. You have to like that genre of film.

I seriously do not understand the negative reviews. I was skeptical after reading a few, but I decided to give it a watch, and I am glad I did. Great mix of special effects, humor, seriously gruesome scenes, and overall a great watch imho. Acting was good, so no issues there whatsoever. It follows along the lines of a good, true to script, comic book for those who still read them. In the end, it was worth the rental price hands down.

Plot slow to develop. Cool concept, reminded me of Stargate, Tremors and some others. Good action sequences. Some things not well explained like where these other people came from and why they having flaming weapons....didn’t play the game so not sure how it compares

Okay for a cartoon. Milla is tops; Perl Man is good.

First off the movie had no plot line and it was a hole lot of me not knowing what was going on because one minute it was on one boring moment and then all of a sudden boom it was so dum and i am the kind of person who would normally like something like this if it had a good plot but sure as heck doesn’t have one.
  • Ron Perlman, really

Everything was fine until Ron Perlman shows up in the movie.
