The bigger they are, the harder they fall. Just ask poor Tom. He’s been pounded by bulldogs, sliced by buzz saws and blasted by dynamite, just for doing what comes naturally, chasing a mouse. But Jerry’s no ordinary mouse. In Tennis Chumps, the mouse causes chaos on the court and it’s no love match. He bravely protects his friend, Little Quacker, from Tom, who has his heart set on a duckling dinner. Jerry trains little Tuffy mouse to challenge Tom to a duel in Touché, Pussycat, and takes on Tom and a rival alley cat in Sufferin’ Cats, only to have them clobber themselves. Tom and Jerry have tried to live together peacefully. In Blue Cat Blues, their friendship is torn apart when Tom finds the female feline of his dreams. The Truce Hurts when Tom, Jerry and Butch the bulldog, sign a non-aggression pact. There’s no way around it, as long as cats chase mice, Tom and Jerry will always be cartoon comedy.
