It's definitely not Green Day sound, but the album turned out better than I'd thought. It's a creative direction they are going, and being an artist, I love it for that matter. I miss BJ's guitar solos though. Overall, thumbs up.👍🏻👍🏻🤘🏻

When the first singles were released I wasn’t sure how I felt about where the album was going, not that the first two songs were bad by any stretch but if the whole album would be songs like them I was disappointed. However the album was released and I fell in love with so many songs on it. “I Was A Teenage Teenager”, “Meet Me On The Roof”, “Junkies On A High”, “Oh Yeah” among others all tied the album together and somehow made the other songs even better. You get a good bit of everything Green Day in the album. You get their off the hinges music you can party to and some of their more controlled music that you can vibe to and relax, somehow the two together makes all the songs a lot better and more enjoyable. I would say Teenage Teenager is the best song on the album and is definitely in the top 50 Green Day songs. The album is short however, not as long as usual. They wanted to do something different and that is what they did, they make good music by making music they want to make not music to be mainstream. That is why this album lands a 3/5 from me, everything Green Day said this album is, it is. This album is a great start to a new decade and it leads me to believe that there is more music to come that will be even better. Their best has yet to come. Buy this album, listen to it twice on a loop (it won’t even take an hour) and you’ll love how it all ties together. Music Review 3/5 Pros: Everything above. Cons: Album Cover Art is Pretty Lazy but it was intentional from what BJA was saying. Short songs are great but they should of squeezed one or two more in to give the album more content since they only release new albums every 4 years on average since 2004.

I’ve been on and off with this album there are times when love and times when I despise it right now I like it who knows maybe next week I’ll like it. Now I’m gonna go through a track by track review Father of all… it’s fun and catchy the falsettos weird but I got over it 4/5 Fire ready aim an average song that I don’t hate 3/5 Oh yeah! At first I didn’t know how to feel about them using samples but it works well and I like the lyrics 4/5 Meet me on the roof this is strange I like the keys and it’s catchy however it isn’t really green day 3/5 I was a teenage teenager my god this song I don’t know how to feel about it I like the musical aspect but the lyrics are just bad and cringe inducing 3/5 Sugar youth it’s starting to get good fast distorted guitar is awesome at first I didn’t like the short length but I got over it and it’s the most green day song on the album 5/5 Junkies on a high. this is a weird one it’s slow and wildly different but I like it 4/5 Take the money and crawl. I love the chorus the guitar and the vocals I can’t find a flaw in it 5/5 Graffitia. Good bass and guitar and I like the lyrics a good closer So what do I give the overall album a 4/5

It’s not necessarily bad, but it’s certainly not great. Not every album has to be a masterpiece, but a lot of this album sounds like those songs you hear in commercials on tv or YouTube. That’s not really what I’m interested in. I think my main problem with this album is that I honestly can’t tell if they just wanted to have fun with a 25 minute, upbeat, pop-rock album, or if they just needed to put something out to stay relevant and appease their record label or something.

I've been listening to Green Day since the 90's. Lost touch with what they were doing after Uno. As you get older ( At least me anyway ) your attention and / or interest in new music starts to wane. Honestly 99% of any music that comes out anymore holds no interest to me. I stumbled across this album after looking into what the band was up to recently. Listened to a few of the track clips and liked the sound. Got it on vinyl to add to the collection. It did take a few listenings before it really made an impression. The distorted vocals were odd at first but it wasn't a big deal. No the album isn't traditional Green Day but its fun, full of catchy tunes and beats the crap out of anything considered music these days.
