I like the app but I really don’t like unsolicited requests for review so this is what I type for every app that does this so it will stop. I also take a moment to say that subscriptions for apps or software is a horrible thing so avoid that if you can so maybe they will change.

Awesome RSS reader for the power user. Settings for each individual feed (including an error viewer for troubleshooting why you aren’t getting new articles). Automatic reader view works well. If you want an RSS reader which is a) more powerful than the free NetNewsWire, and b) NOT a subscription, here it is. UPDATE: Version 2.1 introduces Shortcuts support. Awesome.

I love this. It’s brought back the joy of rss for me. The presentation is gorgeous, everything works the way it should, and it’s a one time purchase! Please buy this and support ethical developers!

Best layout of any reader—magazine style timeline view. Mark as read does NOT grey out the article in the list which is a big miss (even tho there’s a feature to enable it). Read later type functionality is lacking. Labeling as “favorite” is a kludge. No way to add a url via safari—can only add feeds.

I’ve used News Explorer for a few years now and it has always been good but the new 2.0 update makes it the best! The only thing it is missing as of now is BlueSky support, which I hear is coming soon. Keep up the good work!

I’ve used numerous RSS apps over the years - definitely old school when it comes to gathering news and RSS is still the best. After years of using Reeder w/ Feedly, I decided to bring my RSS feeds “in-house” using iCloud sync. Reeder has never been good at this. Clunky and unreliable. (Reeder is still a polished app with lots of features - just not this one). Out of the box, News Explorer gets an A for its rich set of features and iCloud sync functionality. So far I am super impressed with News Explorer. A good investment for sure.

I miss of basic “Unread” filtering and having Titles at the top of my articles. Who tried V1 & V2 side by side and thought no one will miss this??? My favorite news app just got trashed.

I just switched from Inoreader after subscribing for seven years. Let me tell you, News Explorer is out-of-this-world fantastic. It’s attractive and easy to use, and full articles are displayed in a way that’s better than on Inoreader. I am happy to have made the switch to News Explorer and look forward to leveraging a treasure trove of settings for maximum benefit. Enjoy! 🌞

This app is very useful. Some glitches (like certain RSS feeds not working), but overall I find it Is very helpful for selecting/following specific news outlets and topics I’m interested in.

I've been using Feedly for year, and wasn't sure I needed an app-based news reader, but boy, I'm sold. This app is perfect. It's intuitive, beautiful, and adds the unread status count to my menu bar. It's also great the way it displays articles right in it's preview column so I rarely need to actually open them. It was trivial to import the RSS file, and it now syncs across my iCloud. Great app!
