  • Secret hidden fees

    By Michelle brad
Iit charges you a fee for being able to open messages and it also charges you a fee to verify your ID. Why not just make one whole subscription? Very trusting.

HIGH-FUNCTIONING SCAM. Used it and paid for all the stuffs, and a majority of the listings on the site vanish after you subscribe or upgrade to receive and send messages. The majority of listings that show up when wandering the site, are no longer available once you set up profiles and pay a fee of $16.28, and another 10.85 for ID verification. The facade of the Apps system is blatant in their need to garner memberships, and not so much move listings. There are half of the listings that somehow end up pushing you to third-party property management companies, and that’s just general leasing. Before I paid the second verification fee, a private message showed up from a potential listing match: after I followed through with the ID verification...the message, listing, and profile became unavailable. So I will obviously not re-subscribing to this sham of application. I’m just trying to move, and this entire experience felt unnecessary and scammy.
  • Pricy rip off

This app is so deceiving. They allow you to download and look at posts but when to try and message person they want to charge $7 a week to see messages. Don’t waste your time with this app
  • Exhausted of the Scams

I don’t really care if this app is a good app or not, the tactics used to promote it are so unethical and waste many peoples time. Roomster has people go on Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace to post fake room listings to which they respond with an email saying “great! Just click this link to see pictures and details of the room”. When you click the link, it redirects to the App Store to download Roomster. Finding a room rental that is a good match is difficult as it is, and having people create fake listings and wasting peoples time for the sake of getting app downloads is just so wrong and really makes the moving process so much more difficult. I dread talking to people about a promising room rental because often it ends up being a fake roomster scam. I really hope they are held accountable and get banned from Craigslist and the Facebook marketplace and this app is eventually banned over this.
  • Terrible

Expensive to an exploitive degree. I can understand $10 monthly, but not weekly. It’s so buggy I can’t even find a listing someone’s trying to point me to, and full of scammers. Don’t waste your money. Look elsewhere.
