    Customer request key changes are no longer coming to Day One as they once were, though it still remains best in class. But others are catching up quickly and Day One risks losing its edge.

    I think I ONLY like that Journal is an “Apple App” if that makes sense. But they’re losing to “On This Day” EVERY TIME. And I love this app. This app has been A1 Since Day One. I don’t think I’ll ever stop using it.

  • Search needs work

    I really love this diary app. I use it every day. I love the way it syncs between my phone and my desktop computer. But the search function is really bad. When I search for a phrase, it finds every entry with every word, rather than the phrase. Also, when you click on the entry that you think might have what you are looking for, it doesn’t highlight what you are looking for, and you have to read the whole dang entry to try to find it. Can this be fixed? Maybe if we put quotes around a phrase, it could look for the phrase instead of every word individually? Can it highlight or go to the word or phrase we are looking for? I don’t think this is too much to ask. Thank you.

  • not good at syncing across platforms

    i have been using this app on my ipad while travelling for s number of years and it has been great. however trying to use this on my macbook and the website and it is not syncing. have spent too much time to rectify why it is not. very disappointed. Have tried to reach Day One but they are too backlogged to provide timely assistance. There is no customer service number so you cannot speak with anyone to remedy the issue. again very frustrating.

    Have been using since 2011. It seemed like a great journal app and so I kept it. But the day when your data go wonky or half of it is missing don’t expect any help.

    I would give it 5 stars if the Desktop interface was more user friendly, like the app. Two issues: it’s difficult to change the location of a post and have it apply only to that entry and sometimes entries revert/post to a previous journal without warning. But Overall, I’m really happy with the functionality and features of the app.
