  • Worst app ever

    By ppopuyh
    Never worksyy
  • Don’t want to see pop up ads

    By alvinexpress
I am a paying subscriber to the app version of the paper. I should not be receiving pop up ads. The previous version did not do this. How do I turn off the ads?
  • It does function

    By 0pl,9okm8ikm
Not my favorite style of website —dislike how unstable is the enewspaper and having to reload pages a lot using my iPad by the way the ads that pop up in front of the pages are ver annoying — waste of time
  • Inserts overlay ads on a paid subscription

    By Jcr56a
The app inserts additional overlay ads over top of the newspaper page. You have paid for a subscription and then are forced to see overlay ads before you can read the page you paid for.
  • Undependable App

    By RR1525
Always a gamble if the app will open the Columbus Dispatch. Frequently fails to open paper; just get blank page. App will fail waiting for annoying pop-up ads. Can get all kind of miscellaneous stories today but again can’t get paper to open. Ready to drop this paper and go back to Washington post. They know how to program an app.
  • Columbus Dispatch app

    By Disgruntled Jane
This app does not work properly; not one day since it’s launch has it loaded with the new edition. It is difficult to scroll. There is nothing good I can say about it. Seriously disappointed. You have ruined my morning coffee routine.
  • So, I finally finish yesterday's newspaper...

    By Redirks
So, I finally finish yesterday's newspaper. Now, how do I get to today's edition of the Dispatch? Normally, I simply close yesterday's edition and today's comes onscreen automatically. Not today. This edition of the Columbus (OH) Dispatch must have been designed to turn people away from using it. The only way I can get back to the current edition is to delete, then redownload the app. Not a good way to win subscriptions and influence readers.
  • Difficult Page Advance

    By Z-e-d&
The new system requires specific advance > button rather than a simple swipe of the page to advance. Very annoying and unfriendly.
  • Terrible website

    By TOSU1978
I can’t find the stories I am interested in. Example: the PGA tournament is entering the final round, and I cannot find the third round results. The format of the site is frustratingly unorganized.
  • Billing needs a revamp

    By CRD35
Let me start by saying I have worked customer service positions before and I have worked for corporations so I know that reps may have limited info and things take time and there may be errors. After calling 3 times and getting a cancel confirmation email, I don’t think there is an excuse. I signed up for the Dispatch bc I wanted to support local news and they had a 6 month $5 promo, it ended in January and I got charged $19.99 so I called to cancel on 1/12/24. The rep convinced me to do another $5/month promo so I did. I was charged $19.99 on 2/7 and I called 2/9 where the rep said I wouldn’t be charged for 3 months bc I paid $20 and the promo was $5/month, I agreed. Once again I was charged 3/28 for $19.99 and I had reached my limit, I called 4/2 to say I wanted to cancel and the rep processed. I got an email on 4/2 confirming cancellation eff 4/26. Lo and behold on 4/29 I was charged….$19.99. I called today, 5/6, to demand cancellation and my money back and the rep, Joan, said “I see a refund processing, trust that our billing team is working on it and trust you’ll be notified by email.” I said okay to get off the phone but this is ridiculous, multiple phone calls with no fix and the refund is only $19.84 (I have no confirmation yet other than the rep’s word) when in reality it should be $39.98. Joan also called me ma’am twice and after I said my name, clearly a guy, she STILL said “Mrs. Curtis.” I gave the app 2 stars for local news but don’t buy unless you’re ready to spend $19.99/month for repeat articles, ads, and ads that look absolutely fake and like a virus.
