  • No better than what came with iPhone

I got this app because everyone was saying how great it was at blocking spam on text messaging, but since I installed it, I get every bit as many text messages maybe even more so from people in Nairobi and other exotic lands. I particularly got it to eliminate political spam and I still get every bit as much. Highly disappointed..
  • Maybe I am missing something?

Finding myself increasingly bothered by unsolicited and illegally placed telemarketing calls, I decided to give Nomorobo a try on cellular after setting up an account for a landline a few years ago. Maybe I am missing something, but Nomorobo doesn’t really seem to be an improvement over configuring iOS not to ring when calls unknown to the phone’s contacts or dialing come in. Nomorobo’s own documentation says it can’t stop unwanted callers from leaving a voicemail. Isn’t that kind of the point behind the service? Nomorobo also seems to have had a lot of trouble updating its list of blocked numbers in the background. It would indicate this to me almost every time I opened the program. I really expected that when run, Nomorobo would offer up a log of its activities. It does not seem to have that capability. Finally, with regard to blocked numbers…almost every junk call I received wasn’t on their list. I think there’s a good idea trapped in here and trying to get out. Some of the limitations are also operating system related. In the end, I cancelled my trial and uninstalled the program because I just couldn’t see any advantage it had over the tools already at my disposal.

  • Doesn’t catch much

Most spam/scam calls are not caught by the apo. It appears that many spammers switch phone numbers faster than the Nomorobo folks can block them. It’s a bit more effective with spam texts but many still get through. I cancelled my subscription as it wasn’t worth it for me.

This app keeps crashing and I have to delete it and then add it back after restarting my phone. Lately it’s been happening more and more! I am sick of this app!
  • Annoying refresh

This app works incredibly well, but as other subscribers are saying, I too keep getting the message that the authorization is missing & it’s never been refreshed. There’s no need to tell me your suggestions like you have everyone else because I have done them all. Two or three times a week. I hate to have to cancel my subscription because I really really like this app,but If this annoying problem doesn’t get fixed soon I’m going to cancel my subscription & find a better working app.

I’ve happily subscribed for years because it worked great but for the past few weeks it’s like every spam call is getting through. Deleted and reloaded and it didn’t help. I’m about ready to give up on it.

Nomorobo repeatedly gives me a message that the blocklist is out of date. When I go to nomorobo, the message is that it has never been updated. This time and I have seen this before I also had a pop up that there is missing authorization. The message is Hmm. Somehow your authorization went missing. Please delete and reinstall the app. Seems like the app is a bit buggy in my situation.

Recently I had a problem with my Nomorobo app. The app crashed. I deleted the app & went to the App Store to tried to reinstall the app onto my “shiny new iPhone”. It did not reinstall. In the App Store the app said open. I was able to run the app that said open on my phone but it would not go onto my iPhone. I contacted Nomorobo since it was their app. First you need to know a few things in my self-defense: This was my 1st iPhone. I have been an android user for a long number of years. I could make my android phone do what I wanted when I wanted. My first few days with the iPhone were traumatizing!!! The fix provided by AJ after serveral e-mail message was so simple. I was dancing for joy. I had my Nomorobo app back on my home page. It took a little be of time for my analytic brain to figure out what actually had happened to my Nomorobo app. Apparently with the newer phones (I think) the app in the App Store says OPEN once you have purchased it. I deleted the app on my home page. Could’ve get it back to my home page. AJ at Nomorobo finally figured what I was saying in my confused manner. I had never seen an app stay open once purchased. Remember I’m new to Apple. He advised me to go the last page on my phone. Go to apps library & go to Nomorobo. Press down on Nomorobo & put it onto your home page. I did it. Happy days are back! Reality kicked in: The fix provide by AJ after serveral e-mail message was so simple. I was dancing for joy. I had my Nomorobo app back on my home page. It took a little bit of time for my analytic brain to figure out what actually had happened to my Nomorobo app. It never was truly deleted from the iPhone. Apparently, the app will say open once you have purchased the app from Apple. I checked to see if that was true on several other apps. It was.
