I upgraded to the pro version a long time ago because of how awesome this app is. It allows me to set a notification range that warns me no matter what if i have lightning in my area, which any lightning or storms for that matter tend to cause power to go out. I run a home business running CNC machinery and losng power or power surges from lightning strikes are, as youd imagine, a big middle finger to $100k equipment. This app has saved me multiple time from accidental shutdowns and damages. Recently though for unknown reasons, the app didnt warn me when the last storm came through. Got lucky nothing shut down. First missed notifcation out of 1000s, so still 11/10 app. Best weather app imho

I love that it’s simple and quick to get the info I need. That’s why I bought it after trying the ad supported one. One thing that would be helpful to me is on the radar tab if it would tell me if it’s done drawing the radar overlay. When there’s poor coverage sometimes it’s very slow and the only way to figure out if it’s done drawing is to zoom out, which causes it to refresh the data

From the reviews, I thought this app was going to be amazing. If you like lightningmaps dot org, this app is nothing like it. The map is not live and you have no clue where the current strikes are occurring if the map is full of red dots. There’s no yellow dot circled in red, the colors don’t change as time goes by and no sound circle. I get lightning alerts through my local tv station app. Money wasted!

Accurate and Consistent make sure you set your alert and coverage radius to customize it for yourself.

Easy to use, and showing exactly that you need

I would expect an app that prides itself on accurately reflecting reality would not bow to the fickle winds of politics. It’s the “Gulf of Mexico,” you feckless drones.

Radar rarely works. Fix it

As a retired software developer, I can appreciate excellent work, and Jake’s unique touches on the user interface make this one of the most intuitive applications available for the iPhone. If you haven’t already, you should look at the other apps he’s created for pollen count, tides, earthquakes and hurricanes. Try them out and if you find them as helpful as I do by the pro version or buy him a cup of coffee.
