I love Britbox, but after all this time, it’s ridiculous that it doesn’t allow content downloads.
No demonstrative updates in years - the functionality doesn’t ever change

I’m on this app for two words BLUE LIGHTS!! Though I really really like Father brown. I’m just starting to watch BBC shows so they are interesting and much appreciated for the app. It works well and I have no complaints other than turning off auto play but that’s definitely not a deal breaker. 💙

I paid for the yearly subscription to have access to the entire BritBox channel- before this new premium option was available.
The premium upgrade should have been automatically included for annual subscribers for the duration of their annual membership.
It didn’t bother me when it was just to have access to the new episodes ahead of time -but to block all of the Holiday videos for higher-tier members is just an absolute scummy move.
Even the videos that don’t specify premium-only are, in fact, premium only. How is this fair ?
I am seeing the responses from BritBox stating that the entire catalogue is still available and this is simply not true. One visit to your own app will prove that.
The entire selection under THE ART OF CHRISTMAS is for premier members only.

This was my favorite streaming service. However they created Britbox Premier and put everything I want to watch behind a firewall and are asking for more money to watch it. It isn’t just new things. Most of the holiday programs are no longer available to regular subscribers. It feels like a bait and switch

Still great shows, still a third class app, Doesn’t work with AirPods controls for instance.
On the upside,
Boffo content.
It remembers its place when I return to it after using other apps (unlike the Disney Plus app which restarts from the beginning).
It pops up a Next Episode box that’s small and lets lots of credits roll before jerking you to the next episode. (Rolling all of the credits would be even better.)
But under “needs improvement” (for that fifth star),
No user profiles so favorites/lists can’t be kept separate, for example.
Disregards play/pause signal from AirPods.
No downloading for offline viewing.
Their app for the Apple TV has 2 play buttons, the extra one being for turning captions on as it starts to play. Other video players (including their app for the iPad) use settings, so it’s remembered. It’s an interesting idea but maybe (?) takes away from deciding to toggle captions during a show.
non-standard text field use on Apple TV app forced me to peck out my very long password instead of allowing autofill. Here’s hoping the app doesn’t forget.
No Picture in Picture support on the iPad.

The app works well enough, but it doesn’t have support for user profiles. This is an annoyance in a household where multiple people use Britbox, and therefore the watched episode status isn’t helpful.

Used to love this app then the new tiers make a good portion of it just saying upgrade to new tier that’s $60 more a year. It is sickening. Too bad I paid for the year ahead of time. When it’s over deleting the app

I’m a subscriber, but all of a sudden there is a new level premiere that you have to be a part of to see shows. At first, it was just to see all of a season all at once, but now it’s to even access some of the shows. This was already pretty expensive for what’s included, which isn’t all of the British programming, but now you’re making another tier to extract more money from people who are already subscribers. You’ve just lost this customer.

Subscribed via AppleTV app, but when attempting to watch show it kept directing me to BritBox login/subscription page and said I needed to subscribe. Britbox customer service was not able to resolve the problem.
