  • The best I’ve found

This is my second year of use calimoto for my GPS on my bike, a Triumph T120. I used several others before, and this gave me the best routes. The problem that plagued others was the inserting of waypoints. They served no purpose, but passing through one would often make the rest of your ride disappear. It was weird. Calimoto doesn’t have that problem. I love their round trip function. Am 74 so I no longer go on long rides. I generally plan a trip that is a two hour round-trip from my house. It finds tons of new twisty roads I would never have found. My major complaint with calimoto is that they direct me often to Rhodes that are closed for construction. This never happens using conventional GPS apps like Apple, Google and Waze. My Garmin also avoids closed roads. The calimoto does a good job of rerouting, but it irritatingly keeps directing me along routes that have closed roads. Sometimes it has added 45 minutes to a ride to detour around those roads.

The app will take a little time to figure out how it works, but once you do you’ll be able to plan routes quite quickly. The customer service is over email and VERY responsive. This is probably the aspect that sets it apart. Great company, nice app, happy with the purchase.

I tried being cheap and used Rever, but there’s just no comparison. Does what I want and does it very smoothly and well. I love the round trip planning feature. Very nice if you know how far you want to ride but don’t have anything in particular in mind.

Es wäre hilfreich wenn die Namen der Strassen auf der man gerade fähr angezeigt werden würde.

No need to think about this one. It is what they say it is. I use this on days I go out to ride. I put the direction in with how many miles I want to ride and it provides a route that is literally perfect. The devs have done a great job improving the app. Five stars all the way.

I live in a rural area and I’m unfamiliar with the winding back roads and this app created some great routes for me to explore. Just decided how many miles you wanna ride and this does the rest. Annual subscription price only, no shorter terms but still a decent value for what it does I think.
  • Almost everything is behind a paywall

You can create an awesome route to your destination with the app but you can’t navigate or track your ride without paying a subscription. At least you can go old school and write down the navigation and still get the benefits of the twisty route feature.

Just found this app. Downloaded it, and one of the options is loading through facebook, but every time I try there’s an error #8001. I guess that’s an automatic red flag.😒
  • Why??? Subscription. Really?

I used to love the app. Back when it was free to route, save, start nav, etc. now all you can do is look at routes (even your past ones) and cannot navigate UNLESS over $70 subscription. I tried the premium trial and was not impressed. Still a lot of the same issues as when it was free. If you had a one time purchase like most apps, fine. I could bite the bullet and buy it. But this app is still not error proof, yet now I am supposed to pay for it annually (average $6 per month)? That is like Netflix and others. You are asking for almost 1/2 the cost of a service like Netflix, Prime, Peacock is even less. Of course I get it, but I don’t even use Calimoto enough to warrant such a large annual fee. If you offered a one time like others, even $20 I would pay it. For it would justify. But for the current functionality of this app with still many issues, I guess I am on search again for another hopeful motorcycle app. Sorry guys, I really feel like you all dropped the ball on this one.

After trying a handful of competitors to this app, I was turned onto this one and have been using it ever since. By far the best app to plan routes. Just choose a direction, the approximate distance you want to travel, and to find the twistiest roads and your off! App is also great at tracking non planned routes.
