  • Great Content but the App isn’t great.

    The app needs work. I haven’t been able to watch one video without having to restart the app several times just to get it to play. It’s frustrating. It also keeps stopping right in the middle for no reason at all. I’d give it 4 stars if they get the technical kinks worked out. Paying for content I cannot comfortably watch feels like a waste of time and money.

    Very deceptive billing practices. They sell your information. Very difficult to get a hold of customer service. This company doesn’t practice any of the classes they offer.

    Automatically renews without alerting. There are ways to make money not forcing people to renew it and if they try to cancel not providing a reasonable resolution.

  • Impossible to speak with a human

    Content is well-produced, however I didn’t find much that I felt was relevant to me. I had been quite excited about it. We decided not to renew for a second year and I went in to turn off auto renewals when they warned me about my subscription ending. My subscription was renewed anyways at 2x what I had originally paid. I contacted customer service as soon as the charge went through and customer support (even through email) is now AI. I went back and forth with the AI and it said that I would be forwarded to a specialist…that was a week ago. Massively displeased with their customer support and do not recommend the service.

  • App is good but they won’t tell you your subscription is going to renew

    I liked the app and the content but I did not want to renew my subscription (I can’t afford it). I forgot about it and I got an email with the invoice. I immediately emailed them to cancel it, got responses from an AI assistant that said was going to connect me to someone, which did not happen. It’s sad that these apps have the no refund policy on renewals. It feels like a cheap way to get people’s money. I forgot about it, didn’t get notified about the upcoming charge and then I have no options left but to pay for another full year with money I don’t have.

  • Courses Are Impossible to Navigate

    The courses themselves seem pretty good however the interface is awful. You can’t just go back and find your classes that you signed up for both search library discover everything just send you to find more classes and doesn’t take you back to the class that you’re working on. The AI is practically useless like what am I gonna learn from an AI about dribbling or shooting a basketball? The AI doesn’t help you navigate the course. The AI doesn’t help you troubleshoot support issues. The AI doesn’t help you find missing documents that are supposed to be part of the course. There is no support with this app or MasterClass, you can totally tell this is put together by some tech bros who fired everyone because AI was going to magically run everything.

    My subscription had expired, but I got an offer to renew at a discount. When I signed up under the discount not only did they bill me twice for the same discounted subscription they also billed me for a renewal of the old subscription that had expired. When I asked them for a refund, they said @sorry we're having technical difficulties refunding your money." So instead of spending $80 today I got charged $400 with no idea when i will get my money back. So that's the end of my using MasterClass ever again. UPDATE: they sent me a refund for one of the $79 charges, but the fine print states that the actual refund won't occur for 7-10 days. So Masterclass just skimmed $400 from my account 30 seconds after subscribing, but they are going to hold onto that money that i didn't authorize them to take for a couple of weeks.

  • Impossible to Cancel and Feels Like a Scam, Extremely Disappointed

    This app operates like a trap. Trying to cancel is a nightmare, they make you jump through endless hoops, ignore cancellation requests, and keep charging your card anyway. It genuinely feels designed to lock you in against your will. No transparency, no respect for customers, and absolutely no accountability. I’ve never dealt with a service that fights this hard to keep charging you after you clearly ask them to stop. Avoid this app at all costs.

  • Be careful of bias

    Like any media company, Masterclass has a clear left wing bias. I don’t mind hearing different opinions, but almost every course I’ve taken has clear ideological left wing viewpoints…it’s nauseating. I’m even more upset I just gave these people my money to have their constant opinions shoved down my throat.
