Description

RV LIFE is the app where wanderlust and wisdom intersect. It's a place to share experiences and inspire confidence to conquer the adventure ahead. Trusted by millions of RVers, RV LIFE helps you locate the perfect campgrounds, navigate your RV safely, and journey with confidence. Install our free app today to elevate your RV adventures and join our thriving community of trusted RVers. • Crafted by RVers, for RVers: As RVers, we've experienced the limitations of car-based GPS apps and the frustration of needing an app to work when you are offline. Designed specifically for RVers (sorry, tent campers), we've developed an RV-specific platform for researching, trip planning, navigation, maintenance tracking, and more. The most important features of our app, our campground directory, and map plus the GPS’ turn-by-turn directions function offline in remote locations with no internet. • Customized RV Safe GPS: Our navigation, customized for your RV's height, length, and weight, ensures you avoid low clearances, hazardous mountain passes, and inappropriate guidance that comes from using car-based GPS services. Enjoy turn-by-turn, offline directions, voice navigation, lane guidance, and real-time traffic alerts. • The Unrivaled Authority in RV Park Directories: For decades, we have been the go-to directory for RVers. Explore every RV campground, RV park, and RV resort, easily accessible through our intuitive map-based interface. With over ten million data points derived from firsthand insights from fellow RV travelers, we provide you with the highest quality data to ensure you are informed during your travels. Our specialized RV park database offers in-depth information relevant to RVers, such as campground amenities, internet speeds for gauging cellular coverage, feedback on sewer and water connections, lot spacing, tow vehicle parking, etc. Confidently navigate knowing you have access to world-class data crowdsourced by verified RVers. Gain insights, such as things to do, places to eat, and other advice, from fellow RVers who've journeyed there before you. Our RV-focused filters simplify the process of finding well-rated, popular RV campgrounds. You can search by type (National Parks, KOAs, BLM, etc.) and RV discount (Good Sam, Passport America, AAA). • Insider RV Tips from Fellow RVers: Take advantage of tips covering topics like RV area attractions, top dining options, and more, accessible from any RV campground's detail page. • Pro members have access to our celebrated trip planner, RV LIFE Trip Wizard. Plan your itinerary, and then easily access your trips from our app, ensuring safe navigation to your next destination. The trip planner operates in a browser, laptop, tablet, or phone. • Save More with RV LIFE Pro: Turn your phone into a reliable, RV-safe GPS and save money by upgrading instead of purchasing an expensive RV GPS device, complete with offline, turn-by-turn navigation. • Browse Thousands of Articles: Articles covering topics such as RV destinations, RV DIY projects, product reviews, and more. We're fortunate to boast over 20,000 five-star reviews from satisfied RVers who trust RV LIFE to guide their journeys. 'We use this app for everything! Love the reviews and the opportunity to learn from other campers. We've not been disappointed when finding campsites on the road. Easy to use.' - Teachr1990 Our biggest achievement isn't that major media outlets like the Washington Post, BBC, Forbes, and USA Today have sung our praises. Our real badge of honor comes from the feedback of our fellow RVers. RV LIFE is frequently featured on RV blogs and YouTube channels. The respect and trust we've earned from the RV community and the media alike—that's our north star. Let's hit the road together. Using this app for the first time and it safely routed me from trouble. One bridge had a height warning that was close to my RV’s height and the app let me go through, thankfully without issue
  • Not all RV sites are actually there like shown on their map.

I booked a RV stop using the app and associated links to pay for my stay. Only when I arrived there was no RV park to be found anywhere even when I tried Google. I lost money and can’t get it back. Don’t trust the links, call the RV park to make sure they are real. This site had no phone number to the park. And RV Life uses AI in their help. No place for me to email a complaint. RV Life helps fraudsters by not verifying these parks are actually there. Disappointed!
  • App is great. GPS stinks.

The app is great for finding campgrounds and reading honest reviews with tips. The GPS however for us is unusable. When you need to change lanes for construction, it gets lost, and then when you continue, it screws up your destination. you have to get all the way out of it and restart to your destination.

The app loads fine but is complicated to work with. I had to sign up in the app as well as on their web page and it was not a seamless experience. Once I got everything to work and I signed up for the 7 day trial, it took me an hour to get a simple 5 hour trip loaded to it. We drove from Syracuse, New York to cape May nj and what should have been an easy trip over several major highways became a real annoyance as it tried to take us on back roads and side roads instead. And yes I had every trip feature turned on. I cancelled my subscription and I’m deleting the app. It also appeared clunky and dated, and unimpressive. It has potential but I’ll trust Google maps and iOS maps and their reliability with my own judgment added for the hazards. No thanks.

This app has the potential to be great but instead it is a pain in the rump to use. The instructions are clear as mud and there is no customer support other than email.
  • The developers need to be made to use this app

If they were, they would quit or be forced to hire someone who has used a basic planning and navigation app before. This app is terrible from a user perspective, never mind all the reviews from folks who say it routed them through the rabbit hole. First, creating a new trip is a horrific set of UI gymnastics that nobody in this day and age should have to deal with. Back and forth between the web browser and the app. Not even a single notice in the app that you CAN'T create a trip or add a stop in the app. Took me 90 minutes (at a bar with a beer or I would have tossed my phone off a high bridge) to create a trip, after having stumbled thru it somehow about 4 weeks earlier) Adding stops is amazingly convoluted, almost have to try to be this obtuse. You create a trip, search for a destination, only to find no amount of searching will render a result, hitting the magnifying (search) icon just highlights the color of the icon (note 10% of men are partially color blind so never use color as a primary UI differenciator) it eventually fails and reverts to the no highlight color which is one rgb shade lighter than the highlight. Ultimately, after much head scratching, you try the GPS tab on the bottom, search and it asks if you want to navigate or add it to a trip ... Well yes, that would be good now that you have no context you are in a trip. Meanwhile, back on the app trip tab, there is a mysterious wrench that takes you to a bunch of settings that have seemingly little to do with the task at hand. (At least here if there was an option to add a stop that took you to the GPS tab, it would have a reason for existing). They also could have easily added a button at the bottom of the stops list, next to the Edit button to add a stop, EVEN IF ALL IT DID WAS SAY "Sorry, that is beyond our capability to implement here, please fire up your web browser, log into RV life, find the trip and take your best guess at how to do it there, maybe someday we'll have an AI figure this out for us". You get the idea, this thing is a mess. There is no way to mark a trip complete, or better yet when you arrive once at the final destination, ask if the trip is done. It just stays active forever currently. I could go on for hours with broken UI paradigms, incorrect speed limits, time zone end point miscalculations, but hey read all the other reviews, it'll save me time. On the plus side, it does have an avoid tunnels that google surprisingly doesn't, it knows your height and weight so maybe it routes around some places google wouldn't. However, it doesn't seem to have worked out well for many. If you do use this thing, check everything, compare against Google maps, have google Gemini plan a route for you by telling it to avoid tunnels, bridges lower than your rig size, and roads that can carry x-tons of GVW and compare. A few minor tweaks to Google maps and this app will disappear so buyer beware. Other than that, it's great ... Lol

I have setup multiple trips using this app. There is a learning curve but that is understandable considering all that this app does. I have emailed them a few times now and get a response at once, even on a holiday. Have recommended I couple of upgrades and one is in the works and they suggest work a rounds until it is available. Still wish they could figure a way to add my second suggestion, but it is still an outstanding app. I would highly recommend.

Everything was perfect going. I assumed going home would just reverse the course. It didn’t around New York and took us in a space too small for a motorhome. I know next time to make sure we don’t go there! Not understanding why they did that.
  • Good, not great

I was impressed by reviews and my initial use of the trial. But then the navigation took me on 10 miles of some narrow, torn up back road in South Carolina. Also noticed a lot of campsites with expired websites or that have been closed for years. I still use the free service but I cross check with other site and Google.

This app took us down a road with 10 miles of varying slopes up to 25% (California’s 4 near Markleeville). We had to turn our 42’ Fifth Wheel around on a dangerous & narrow mountain road to avoid the slope. Then we had to backtrack. The fiasco cost us 2 hours. This is not our first issue. The app also directed us to a road that appeared to be submerged under a river. After researching I discovered that the “road” had not been built yet. Further, the app works when it wants to, which has been extremely frustrating & inconvenient.
