It was so much fun during the first lesson but than it wouldn’t let me go further! I was so upset because I was finally actually rembering the Spanish. I thought it would be cheap but almost a hundred dollars for one year no thank you.

So far loveing it

I’ve had Duolingo for a while and it’s good/ok and it doesn’t charge a monthly fee UNLESS you want no ads, unlimited hearts/mess ups. This app just wants your money to use it. The “free” version is just 5 short lessons less than 10 minutes then you have to subscribe to use the app. Do better. Make it to where there’s a free version where you only get so many minutes a day or throw an ad in there for a free user. The fact I can’t use the app without paying has 100% discouraged me from using it and 100% encouraged me to leave this 1 star review

You should let people make avatars like in Duolingo

I have enjoyed using this app but I have discovered it doesn’t always give the standard words for an item. (Reality tested with a Spanish speaking friend from Spain.) Additionally when I used the personalized lesson and told the app that I begin work at different times of day I was instructed to use a specific phrase by the app to express this. However when I had a non-scripted chat and I used the phrase I was given, I received feedback in the chat (it said it was not a good response) that a Spanish speaking person would never say it the way the app originally told me to say it and I was then given a totally different phrase to use. This does not inspire confidence. Additionally there is no place within the app to provide this type of feedback. For $40 a month, I expect better.

I was excited to try Speak to improve my English, but I was disappointed to discover that neither Ukrainian nor Russian is available as a native language. There are millions of Ukrainian and Russian-speaking people who want to learn English, especially those living in the United States. Speak looks like a promising AI learning app, but the lack of these languages makes it difficult for us to use effectively. Please consider adding Ukrainian and Russian support. I believe this would make Speak accessible to many more learners. I would love to become a paying subscriber once this feature is available!

It’s my first time and it’s good so far

This app is so good. Day 1, about five minutes and I have already learned so much more than I have with other apps. This one is definitely better if you are looking to be able to hold conversations while other apps are better if you just want to be able to read/write or study for a Spanish class in school. None of that stuff really prepares you for conversation fast enough, but this one does! Try it out!
