  • Almost no jet lag 🤯

    We traveled to Europe. I got the Timeshifter app and did what it said. My husband thought it was silly and did some of what it said to do. Both of us had almost no jet lag at all. We used to struggle the first day in Europe. We hit the ground running. We used to take several days to recover when we returned from Europe and this time we popped right back into our routine after one day. What a crazy difference Timeshifter makes!

    Headed from Houston to Sydney and was initially skeptical about this app as jet lag has always been a struggle for me. Tried this app out and followed as best as I could, and even though I didn’t follow it to the exact tee, it still worked! Will absolutely continue to use this app for future travels and recommend to everyone I know!
  • Useful app if you travel

    I do a fair amount of international long-haul travel and this is a great guidance app. Latest trip was transparent in the context of lag; this generally is the case for almost all of my travel. One minor tweak as a suggestion: most international flights serve food within the first 90 minutes and for the last hour, so “sleep” guidance during these periods isn’t practical. The suggestion is to incorporate this option into the planning. Thanks for a great app.

    This App was recommended to me by some friends that use it all the time when they travel back to Sweden. I was surprised by how well it worked out for me as a 47 year old traveling overseas for the very first time. I followed each schedule. Even got some shades to fit over my eyeglasses to simulate the time when I needed ‘no light’. When I got to Tokyo I had energy to take on each activity. I never needed to take a nap or a day to catch up. I just felt like I was waking up on a normal day. I absolutely and wholeheartedly believe that this is what will help anyone with preventing jet lag.

    I tried the timeshifter app last year while traveling from PA to Sydney. I was pleasantly surprised that after following the advice, I hit the ground running in Australia. I had the return trip scheduled on the app when, sadly, my sister passed away, and I had to return early. Jacob and his team were so kind and understanding of my situation and helped me schedule the unexpected quick trip home on the app. I will be getting another subscription for two upcoming trips to Europe in 2025. I highly recommend this app for any travelers who have experienced jet lag. It is the cure you have been waiting for!

    This app uses light and sleep recommendations, with the optional addition of caffeine and melatonin recommendations, to help you adjust to a new time zone. The flight data entry is fantastically simple, and the plan is generated instantly. It helps you take steps a few days before and a few days after the flight(s), to adjust to your new time zone (and again coming home). It seems like the recommendations have gotten more sophisticated over the years, with some of them being counter-intuitive. A recent plan had an hour of bright light right before bed when I returned home, presumably to really jump-start the circadian rhythm adjustment, even though it was dark outside when I needed to use the bright light. Often all I need to do is use the light/dark mode and brightness settings on my devices to follow the light recommendations.

    Used Timeshifter for a trip to Spain with my 10 year old and we were able to pre adjust and enjoy our week in Spain with little to no jet lag there or coming home. It was a marked difference from a trip to London a few years ago with our kids, we dealt with a few days of jet lag on both ends. I highly recommend this app!

    When I first used this app for my trip to Korea, it was great. However, now that I’ve purchased it again for a one-time use before my trip to Ireland, there have been so many issues—it feels like an entirely different experience. First, the right column used to show the time of day for my destination, but now it shows the time of day in Chicago, where I’m flying out from, which is only an hour from where I live and not helpful. Even though I purchased the app about 10 days before my trip, it didn’t start suggesting when I should begin time shifting until just two days before my flight, which didn’t work for my needs. I reached out to customer service to ask if they could adjust the schedule to start a week before my trip, when I actually bought it, but never heard back. In the end, I used the app more for general advice than for an actual guided time shift schedule, which really took away its value. And of course, there’s no way to get your $10 back.

    We took a short trip from the East Coast to Ireland and without Timshifter, we would have lost some of our little and precise travel time to jet lag. I followed the plan pretty closely and experienced no jet lag. This is my sixth trip to Europe from the East Coast and the first time I’ve not experienced jet lag.

    As pointed out in the Timeshifter instructions, the bright light component seems to be the most important. I tried Timeshifter two years ago flying from SFO to Japan, but did not incorporate the bright light that year. This year on a trip to Paris, I brought a 10,000 lux travel light, and that made all the difference. Highly recommend this app along with a 10,000 lux travel light.
