Hi all, to respond to the developers response: 1) why are you putting alphabet lessons at the end. That makes no sense. How are we supposed to even have a shot at recognizing the Thai without introducing us to the script. Duo lingo has a lot of problems but you could learn a thing or two by having a separate area for script study. Without the script learners will not be able to even hack though the first lesson. I had to code my own app just to teach me the Thai script just to get through unit 1. 2) you are not approaching this bite sized enough. The very very very first lesson has entire Thai phrases. Again, please learn from duo. Bite sized. Small. One word at a time. Reinforce one word at a time. Why are you starting with phrases. If your intention is to “teach by teaching commonly used phrases” again, you need to separate that out from the main lesson plan. No one is going to be able to parse out entire phrases when they learned สวัสดี 10 seconds ago. This doesn’t make any pedagogical sense. Are there any teachers on your team? A teacher would know you can just drop a student off on the deep end and expect them to stay afloat. Ling has inspired me to create my own marketable app based off what I’ve coded so far for myself. I am not against partnering with to yall if you’d like, but we’d need to start a lot from the ground up. I live in Bangkok and would be happy to meet. Old review: You’re gonna have a bad time if you’re expecting Duolingo or babbel. I had to write a program that works with Ling just for it to be of any use.

I really like the app except that the recording that I do of my speaking doesn’t work properly I am saying the word properly and it doesn’t pick up what I am saying if the microphone worked better I would have given more stars this app isn’t the only one with the same problem
  • You need to pay but so helpful

You need to pay after doing some lessons. I am now so good at speaking gurjathi and I think that’s only because I kept doing flashcards. Without them it’s just not helpful very much. Also I want more fun interactive stuff on their not just the question:answer something fun and exciting! Avajo!
  • Great but one problem

I have been doing Ling for about 22 days and so far it’s a pretty good app. I’ve learned a few things. I just feel like some of the things could be. I’m learning Yoruba, my family’s native language. I’ve gone through some of the things with my family and they are some of the things I have been learning are very old school. They say It’s not wrong but people don’t casually use some of the words in conversations. So for a while it made me doubt what I was learning. besides that most of the things are right, and I feel like I’ve learned a good amount of things for being my 22 day today.

You guys should really add a dark mode option. I usually try to learn before bed and the bright white background is harder on my eyes
  • Constant updates, weird teaching

The sequence of teaching is very strange. the flash card reviews don't match the lesson vocab. The app constantly requires updates. iuse it only because I paid by accident.

It feels like a more simplistic version of Duolingo without the focus on challenges and connections with friends. It is more conversational and connects phrases with short conversations.
