  • Why is this an app?

More Microslop. They have the Family Safety and Xbox app and deviced to make another app to manage my children’s parental controls rather than letting the settings house in one of those two existing locations. Better yet, they don’t provide the controls on the website those apps send you to and that site doesn’t point you in the direction of this app. I’m removing the controls at this point because this circular insanity does more harm than good.

You would think a computer company’s app would be smooth. It’s not, too much hassle to approve spending or adding money to a child’s account. Broken links when trying to approve items. I get frustrated with every purchase.
  • Horrible

They continue to make these things so confusing that parents can barely set them up. It’s some of them worst to use your experience possible. It’s probably done on purpose and it’s horrible. Skip buying an Xbox altogether.
  • Never syncs

Constantly resetting Xbox accounts to get it to work. Never syncs properly. Worst parental app. PlayStation family and Apple screen time are generations ahead of Xbox family settings.
  • Wish I could add time to play, not an immediate timer.

The “add time” to a daily time limit is very annoying. If I want to add 30 min to the day, it starts a timer even if my child turns off the Xbox. I need to be able to add playing time, not a stop watch. If I want to give them an extra hour for the day, I want them to play for another hour. They are afraid to turn of the Xbox and go outside to play for a bit or go to the bathroom because they will run out of time.

Nintendo is so much better. This app kids still overpass parental controla and play whatever time they want
  • Doesn’t Work

The app seriously never works. I’m constantly having to sign into the web browser to change settings and time limits because the app says it does but it sometimes does and most of the time does not relay that to the actual Xbox.
  • Can’t add money

I’ve used this app for a while now and this used to be somewhat smooth, but now I can’t add money to my son’s account. At all. It just goes to a black screen after I select the amount I want to add and hit ‘next.’ I can’t even go to the Family Safety app to do this because that app now says that they’ve removed Xbox settings.

    Simply not functional.
  • One of the worst

I don’t understand how a company with all the resources of Microsoft can’t develop a functional app that nails the basics: I want to track my child’s screen time and I want to be able to add $ to their account to manage game purchases. Neither of these work. Screen time doesn’t display time, and every time I try to add $ and go through the password/second level security text/fight the bots image, then when it get to the purchase an error message or try again later error happens 90% of the time. It shouldn’t be this hard to be a customer of Xbox!
