My only complaint about this game is not being able to choose which level you can play at, unlike the black and white version.

So, the “postcard” animations for events look so freaking ugly now. Like they were AI generated or smth. It makes me never want to play events. I also don’t like the star events, it just makes the board feel more cluttered. I wish there was a dark mode and a way to turn on/off fill animations. I used to love this game, but it’s gone so far downhill that I’m at my breaking point for uninstalling it. All of these issues and the horrific levels of lag have me just about to give up on this app entirely. (I only gave this review 5 stars so more people hopefully see it, I actually despise this game now with how much it’s fallen off.)
  • Not a Fan of the AI

Update: The images are AI now too. Avoid at all costs. I’m very disappointed in the developers. I’ve been playing this game for a while now and I’ve enjoyed the small events and little animations that have come with it. The update changed to use AI animations for the photos and it makes them look terrible. While the old animations weren’t Disney quality, there was a charm to them that is utterly lacking with the AI animations. Constant smearing and tearing, features blurring and disappearing. I would like for the animations to go back to being made by actual people instead of AI.

I’m going to have to delete this game again soon. The previous puzzles save and there is no way to delete them separately. Going through the interminable beginner levels again will drive me nuts so this will be goodbye soon.
  • New game animation

I have sensory issues. I turn off all extra sounds and on screen movement that I can. When I first saw the new game animation I thought 3 things: 1. That’s an interesting choice. 2. I hope they added a setting to turn the animation off. 3. I really hope they didn’t put that in the black & white version. While I appreciate their desire to enhance gameplay, I was very disappointed that there isn’t a setting to turn the animation off. Not all brains can handle all that motion on the screen. Please hire a consultant that would have not signed off on that update until a functional on/off setting was added for it first. If you already have such a consultant, give them a raise and fire the person that ignored their wisdom. And please, for the love of anything you hold dear, don’t add the animation to the black & white version without the option to turn it off.

I have been playing this game for a long time and have enjoyed the simplicity of it. But the new update with the boards zoomed in and animations when completing lines literally makes me dizzy, such an unnecessary change. Go back to the game before the update and it’s perfect!
  • Good game, but seems to have added AI

I like this game a lot, as I enjoy nonograms a good deal, and this one seemed worth it enough to purchase no ads. However, in the latest postcard event (titled “Summertime”), once you complete the first postcard, the typical limited pixel art animation now seems to be janky AI animation. Most notably, towards the end of the animation, one of the odd looking seagulls moves over part of the woman in the foreground’s book, with the result being part of the book now missing. Since I play this game fairly often, I can say with pretty good confidence this is the first time they’ve started using AI animations, as I’ve done the past several post card events, and each completed postcard was short pixel art-based animations. I sincerely hope the developers will fix this egregious mistake, especially for a game that’s, essentially, a pixel *art* game, and using generative AI to cut corners is antithesis to art.
  • Disappointing Changes

You’d think after 40,700 levels completed that I’d have a higher rating to give a game I’ve enjoyed so thoroughly up to now, but recent updates have changed the charming pixel animations on completed puzzles to AI generated abominations. I don’t feel the need to continue playing so long as there’s no true artistry being put into the game, should this decision be reversed I may return, but until then I’ll be satisfied with other games in my library

I love this game but hate it when they try to change things. I don’t know why developers think they have to make it more jazzy, or make games within the game. Plain and simple is the way I like games. As another reviewer commented, I don’t like the new flashy way the tiles appear when you click on them. I also HATE the stars that they added a while ago and then, thankfully, removed, but are now back again today. They confuse the game. I think those star tiles are already filled-in tiles and I’ve more than once made a mistake because of it. Just keep it simple, please!!
  • remove new fill animation please

I love this game and play it almost daily. I’m currently on level 5376 and the game had an update a few days ago, making it unplayable for me. There is a new fill animation when filling in the squares that it very distracting and makes me not want to play the game at all anymore, which is very disappointing because it is part of my daily routine to wind down. There was also a change to the numbers at the side of each row; now, when you finish a color for a particular row, instead of being grayed out, the number changes to a lighter version of the same color the number was, which is confusing to me now. It makes it difficult to determine what colors I have left in each row. I strongly suggest either to remove these changes, or to create an option in the settings to turn them off. Not only are these new updates distracting, they’re also an accessibility issue. I already tried looking in the settings to turn them off and found nothing, which I was surprised by. Seeing what level I’m on, you can see I have sunk probably hundreds of hours into this game, so I hope you will take my opinion into account. Please introduce a setting to turn off the excess movement and revert back to how it was before this newest update. Thank you.
