Description

Swipewipe is the app that will (finally) help you clean up your camera roll. And you’ll enjoy reminiscing while you do it. We'll save you the time: Yes, there are other apps that can help you quickly delete photos on your phone. But none of them worked for us! We wanted a simple, fun, elegant solution that let us go month-by-month, work our way through all our photos, videos, screenshots, and everything else in our camera roll, and decide - one by one - what to keep and what to get rid of. That’s Swipewipe. Here’s how it works: swipe right to keep a photo, and left to delete it. If you make a mistake or change your mind, just tap the current photo to go back. Hold down on a picture to see its metadata. After you’re done reviewing that month’s photos, take one last look at the photos you chose to keep and the ones you chose to delete, make any tweaks you need to, and then…you’re done! Each time you finish a month, it'll be crossed out. (You can always revisit that month, though.) If you get part way through a month and want to take a break, you can quit the app - a progress wheel will appear next to that month on the main screen, showing you how much further you have to go. If you’d rather not go month by month (or even if you do!) we think you’ll like our new On This Day feature. It sticks to the top of your Swipewipe home screen, and each day, it updates with the photos that you took on this date one year ago, two years ago, and so on. Revisit your memories on their anniversary, and swipe through to determine what you’d like to keep and what you’d like to delete. (It’s pretty fun.) We also have: - Bookmarks (for any pictures you want to set aside) - A widget (and streaks!) for On This Day - Stats that show you how many photos you’ve reviewed, how much memory you’ve saved, and more …and we’re always adding cool new stuff! Our camera rolls shouldn't be such a mess. You should be able to look back at the memories you've made without getting interrupted by blurry duplicates, irrelevant screenshots, and other clutter that keeps you from the good stuff. That’s why we’re making Swipewipe. Hope you like it, and happy swiping! (Oh, and if you have any feedback, ideas, complaints, life advice, or anything else — email us at hey@swipewipe.app!) This used to be a favorite app of mine. Now you have to scroll down to delete photos…. Thought the name of the app has “Swipe” in it and I’m so confused…..
  • No longer “swipe” wipe

I loved this app. I’ve deleted thousands of photos thanks to it and it’s a great part of my routine — both for digital cleaning and nostalgia. That said, the new update that takes away the swipe function makes me no longer want to use the app. It takes longer and is less convenient. Please bring the “swipe” back in swipe wipe.
  • So simple, so easy, so cool

UPDATE: bumping down to three stars from five. The swipe feature has been removed from the On This Day feed. Huh? That’s quite literally the only function I use with the app. Quickly swiping or wiping in OTD has been the fastest and most efficient way to simultaneously see past media AND get rid of unwanted items. I’ll hold on to the app in hopes that feature returns but if it doesn’t I’m afraid I’ll have to find another option. ********** I’ve been scouring the App Store since the iPhone 4 (the best iPhone let’s be honest) for an app like this to clean up my photos. Why oh why is there not something like this built into iOS? Answer me that? Swipewipe is an extremely simple, elegant and beautifully designed app that, get this, makes removing unwanted photos FUN to remove. There’s no bloat and no extra “features” like Google Photos. And the way they implement makes it easy to see progress. The on this day section is a delight and the main way I delete photos. 1-2 minutes a day and you’ll have a cleaner library. The only minor gripe — and it’s really not much of a gripe — is there’s no option to change the app icon. Not a huge fan of the icon color but that’s a personal preference, and a nice to have, more than anything.

Even as a free user, I loved this app and getting to go through my photos every day from “on this day”. The new update takes all the fun and convenience away. I liked the swiping because it’s fast and easy, now the scrolling just makes it take longer and it freezes and glitches a lot. Bring back the swipe in swipewipe! Or at least an option to switch between scrolling and swiping.

This is such a good app for me personally I have so many videos and pictures and they’re so hard to delete all of them that without swipe wipe it’s so much quicker and fun. I hate seeing storage full because it’s so so annoying I don’t think there is a better app than this. If you have a lot of photos or you have a laptop that you don’t need go ahead and go get swipewipe.
  • Great idea, predatory pricing model

This app is a great idea and useful way to clean out your photos. But the full features cost $5 per week - aka $260 per year??? I can understand why an app with ongoing costs like weather, or ongoing updates needs to be a subscription. But this is the definition of an app that is “done” - after 1.0 there’s essentially no extra features worth adding. To devs: call this app done, charge a fair price, move on to your next app idea please
  • Been loving it but

I’ve been loving using this app to delete my unneeded photos, but I am not at all a fan of the new On This Day update, that’s why I’m giving four stars instead of five. I do not enjoy scrolling to go through my photos - it’s called swipewipe not scrollwipe! Plus it’s been lagging and takes a lot longer to sort through my daily photos. Other than that it’s a great tool for cleaning up photo storage!
  • Update is killing it
