  • Not enough food

I was hoping by now that they would have food that I eat in the list, but they are a few and far between. At this point, I would say that it’s not worth purchasing.

They need to add more commercial foods & other foods. I have had trouble finding foods that match what I’m eating. Also the units that come up for beverages are in g. They should fix their app so that units match the appropriate food or drink for the specific country. Ex. Pure Leaf Sweet tea (iced) is pretty common in US but there are no selections that come close to matching this. In addition, they have a great option to add your own food however it doesn’t then automatically calculate its GI. I have no idea what that would be so it’s not helpful.

Terrible search engine, very limited database. Waste of money. Very disappointing.

I have recently been diagnosed with diabetes. I have used another app for years in my weight loss journey, and it has been super-simple to use, telling how many calories, carbs, proteins, fat, etc that each food I enter contains. I purchased the lifetime membership to this app thinking, from its description, that it would not only tell me how many carbs are in the food, but where those carbs lie on the glycemic index. So far I have not been able to use the app at all. It asks me to enter the foods I eat or want to eat, but there is no bar code reader and EVERYTHING must be entered by hand, including the entire nutrition label. I don’t have time for this! Am I missing something? Is there an easier way? I just want to know where various foods lie on the glycemic index so that I can make the best possible choices! Much too difficult to use compared to other apps. UPDATE: Please read the developer’s response. I read the description before purchasing the app and assumed that I would be able to enter a food and see where it lay on the glycemic index, but not one food that I entered in two days was in their data base. Entering all the details manually about everything I eat is too time-consuming. It is like I am filing their data base for them, and I just don’t have time for that. If there was an explanation of glycemic load, of which I am not familiar, I did not find it, nor did I find instructions for a simple way to enter foods.

I was recently asked to try the GI diet by my neurologist, and had such a hard time with trying to find the GI of foods. This app was recommend to me by someone on reddit and so far has been a LIFESAVER. I just put in my meals and Recipes, and it tells me the GI,GL, and nutrition info of my meal! That being said, there are definitely foods that are missing from this app, even though stuff like shark fin is in there? Definitely interesting. I would one day recommend something like a barcode scanner for it to help find the GI of products/add products that aren’t in the food log (tall order, but would be cool). Overall it’s wonderful though. If you’re just starting out, I highly recommend it.

If you don’t pay for the plus version, it is a worthless app. The most you can do is look up is the Glycemic Index of a food. Not even the Glycemic Load. You can’t even track anything. The price for the plus is not outrageous and it is a one time payment, but still when most Macro apps let you at least track food, save favorites, and some provide other options (weight tracking and recipes). Not worth it unless you are buying the plus version.
