I downloaded the app and launched it. A map like screen briefly passed by and then a screen tilted Plan Your Next Trip locked on.

Excellent program. After searching through many mapping and navigational electronic devices and many smartphone apps, Paddleways is the only one I have found that allows the user to plot a route and have it snap to a nearby creek, river , lake or ocean. It is very handy and intuitive.
  • Looks like it has potential

this app looks like it has the potential to be a great resource to somebody that is looking to paddle. As I was playing with it it has some very useful information on certain rivers around the country. However, I live in Alaska and other than identifying the body of water this app is not that useful currently in my area. IE what information I would like to see is where are the put in and take-out locations rapid classifications and so forth for the rivers in our area. Overall has potential. Would consider using it for other parts of the country.
  • Too many errors

The idea is great but they need to check for numerous errors. Launch spots in dry land parking lots nowhere near water? Check your sources please.

Really like that app. It allows me to track where I’ve been on the lakes. I’m not a rapid kayaker I like lakes. I love that I can look up where the outlets are.
  • Missing some key things

When searching for boat ramps/rapids/camps/ etc it will only tell you how far that location is from you, it will not take you to that location on the map. This also seems to only have information on rapids that users have submitted, leaving lots of whitewater sections to appear as flat water (ex. Is the Eel river from dos rios to alder point)
  • Scam?

App will not allow you to create a password and use email based account. Are they only interested in getting my google account info for some reason? Yes, there’s an option for email accounts, but it doesn’t work on iPad.

  • Annoying requests for Always On Location

I cleared all Geofencing and anything else that that requires Always On and the app again, and, again pops up a request for a change of settings. About the 290th time it gets tiresome. Same insistent requests for review so I have them one.
