Venmo put a hold on a payment I sent to a guy for work done. He said “ it didnt go thru” so I paid again and he said it didnt go through. So now I am out 2 payments instead of one !!! Venmo has use of my $500.00 for 21 days…

Total garbage. I set up 2 credit cards and a debit card but still could not move any money to pay for services. If I had paid for this I’d be demanding my money back.

It’s hard to get any customer service and after attempting time and time again to remove my old account and add a new it won’t let me. I’ve cleared cache, I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled. I tried to delete my bank entirely to relink it and it won’t let me do that either. It’s incredibly frustrating.

I’ve been using Venmo for yrs & it was one of the best send money apps on the market for a long time up until the end of 2024 & all of 2025.
Lately, The app has been plagued with “sorry we’re running into issues” windows popping up whenever I try to add my Venmo debit card to Apple wallet or try to remove a debit card from my saved cards.
Most recently I upgraded to the new college mascot designs. Not even 2 days after activating the new debit card, my account was frozen for no explainable reason. I submitted documentation to prove my identity and my account unfrozen again just for Venmo to freeze it AGAIN a few hours later due to “not being able to verify identification.”
Months later and my account is still dealing with app features failing to work properly and errors stating my identity couldn’t be verified. Looking at all the recent reviews about Venmo? It looks like this is a widespread issue and it doesn’t seem as if Venmo has any intention of resolving customer grievances
