When a word is misspelled word has no suggestions, the “learn spelling” button is immediately below the misspelled word. Brillyant

Now Apple has succumbed to getting paid for everything. It’s super disappointing that they have become like everyone else. There was nothing wrong with Pages et. al. and it was free. Now, you have to pony up or use Google. I think I will take my chance with them.

Just a basic free word processor, which is all I need. No one should need to subscribe to a word processor in 2026. That being said, the UI has gotten confused and bloated over the years. I hate all the purple AI buttons they added with subscriptions behind them. You can customize the toolbar, but not completely remove the purple buttons. The UI needs to be reworked though.

Prior to the re-release of Pages, everything worked smoothly; now too often the app will use tons of resources for no apparent reason. I preferred it over other text editors for writing due to the layout being simplistic and mostly minimal. Unfortunately, ever since the re-release things seem to not work properly. I’ve been writing a novella in Pages for a couple years off and on. It’s about 30,000 words in length so far. Now, simply using this app has become a chore to get working. I can tell when it’s starting to eat into the disk paging file (or whatever the MacOS equivalent is) when it begins lagging while I’m typing. In order to fix it, I have to close and reopen the app—this happens several times every session. It happened enough to make me go back to using IA Writer. I would love to use this app since it’s a native app, but it’s not currently working as well as a MacOS native application should.

So I am a writer is is such a pleasant app for writing my novels although lately it has deleted all of my novels and will not let me start writing or open a document it says “blank.pages open in null” and it’s super annoying and I lost all my books so I beg the developer please help me!

Look I only used pages when I finished school and no longer had 365, but man the feature locking and bad design is unforgivable. This is giving iOS 18 all over again. Things nobody asked for being shoved in and making me consider open source software that, unlike Apple these days, “just works”.

Don’t use this app,it has zero advantages, compering to the same type of product from other developers, it’s lagging all the time.

I used to love Pages. It was much better than Word and I was glad it was free. Now apparently with the new version there are parts that aren’t free which sucks but I haven’t run into it being an issue. My main issue is that it shuts down randomly and often. I’m a writer of novels and it did this to me last week while writing. Fortunately it only missed saving a sentence but had it done it a few minutes before I saved it would have deleted a whole chapter. I also noticed formatting issues. I don’t know what you did to this great app but you are lucky I’m not giving you one star and that’s only because up until this recent update I was in love with it. I am switching to libreoffice and hoping for the best there. If you ever fix your issues then maybe I will return.

I use this to write music and try to create songs and it helps me so much with that because I used to just write them on paper but kept loosing them and it helps me a lot with beats because each beat is a new color and it helps me soooo much
