Can we stop with the ads on the bottom of the screen? Especially coming from a premium subscriber.

I’m a premium member and have been for years. I like the cams and reports. What I don’t like is that Surfline recently added Ads in the favorites feed. I pay to be ad free and full access to cams and reports! Why are you putting ads in my feed?! I understand doing it for a free user but it seems more like a corperate greed move to put it also in the paid users as well.

I believe that everyone that has used Surfline knows that the report isn’t always right, but usually it is somewhere in the ballpark of the correct conditions. However, the wind forecast seems to be off almost every time at my local. I’ve had days where I’ll check the forecast and it says that the wind is ten knots onshore, but it ends up being sheet glass. I still love using the app, but I just don’t trust the wind conditions. You are better off using windfinder or the weather app
  • My mistake in criticizing surfline

I previously gave a bad review of the new mobile format because i didn’t realize there was an arrowhead at the upper right end of the surf height strip in the “Today’s Forecast” section under the “Live” tab of the desired surf location, which gives the individual swells going out for sixteen days in a more informative way and with less trouble than did the old format. So, my apology to Surfline, and i congratulate them on the improved format.

I’ve used Surfline for years now, but recently it’s gone downhill. The addition of checks was a flop in my opinion, and limits what you can view over the course of a week. The free version has adds, and I was plenty happy to watch them in order to get my 30 seconds of viewing. Recently however, every surf spot in my vicinity has become a premium cam. I can’t see anything close to where I am and the next closest spot is a completely different type of break compared to my local spots (And 20+ minutes further). The only perk is knowing water temp and general wave size (which a lot of the time isn’t all that accurate).... and I could look that up somewhere else.
  • Horrible customer service

The app is fine and does its job. HOWEVER, I tried getting surfline premium (99$/year) and cancelled within the first trial week because my app never went premium! Not only that, I later found that I was still charged 99$! Aka: no premium and 99$ gone! Their website has no phone number to call — only a “submit a request” button! So frustrating!

  • Doesn’t work when there’s swell.

The app works great when there’s no surf. As soon as there’s surf the cams don’t work and nothing loads. It’s like as soon as there’s traffic on the app it just doesn’t work. I bought the premium membership and it’s just not working
