  • Could be a good app if it wasn’t so glitchy

First off, I want to say that Feedly could be a great app, and it checks a lot box’s for my all-in-one news and content type of app (i.e., Flipboard, Reddit, etc.). That being said, the app is incredibly glitchy to the point unusable. The Feedly team needs to reevaluate their QA process since I can’t use the app to do simple things. Examples include: 1) I can’t access the settings menu at all. It looks like it appears, but I can’t interact with it. 2) I Can’t rename my folders. I see the option but clicking it does nothing. 3) Login is a mess. I try to log in with Sign In with Apple, but it won’t work, and I need to click sign in with Feedly for me to log in…. I wish Feedly luck, but I won't be renewing my subscription this year. For over 100$ a year, I expect at least a working app.
  • Smooth scrolling broken

I’m on an iPad Air running iOS version 12.5.5. With the latest Feedly update to v85, smooth scrolling has stopped working. Scrolling anywhere in the app is now halting and janky. I uninstalled and reinstalled feedly but this issue persists. This isn’t a problem in other apps like Pocket and Safari.

Doesn’t seem like there is anyway to increase the feeds text size or contrast.
  • Why I can’t turn text size on my phone?

I want to turn text size more smaller.
  • I really want to migrate from Feedly Classic, but…

Feedly Classic’s magazine view shows 6 stories with a title and the first sentence of each story alongside the picture. So, paging is 6 stories at a time. The “new” Feedly shows only 3.5 stories with less of the title and little to no text next to the picture. Paging is 3 stories at a time. So, the new version requires twice as much paging and shows half as much information, often not even a taste of the article. I really want to use the newer version, but the magazine view is so useless that I’ll look for an alternative app before using the new Feedly. I wish there was a way to opt in for the same density on the new app’s magazine view (getting back to the Classic’s 6 stories with a sentence or more of text along with the title for each).

  • One of the best tools for focused work

Feedly isn’t perfect, and there is a small learning curve to how RSS works. That said, this is an incredibly powerful tool that has transformed my workflow. I love that Feedly Pro (the paid version) allows me to subscribe to email newsletters directly from Feedly (via customized emails) and to scrape websites that don’t have RSS or email newsletters. This lets me centralize virtually every source of news I might want to keep track of, and then to bucket those sources by context. So unlike email where both important and unimportant, long form and short form, etc. are all dumped into one common inbox, I can easily organize Feedly so that I am only seeing what’s relevant to what I’m doing right now, without being afraid of missing anything. Great app, great customer service, happy to pay to see this app continue to be supported (especially the iPadOS version that right now is a little buggy when it comes to resizing split screen windows! *hint*hint*).
  • I tried it and dumped it

I downloaded this app as an alternative to using Instapaper or Pocket. My long experience with those apps has been positive but recently they’ve underperformed largely because the news vendors play with the application data scrape process considering it a violation of their intellectual property rights... My complaint with this app is it was all about the setup. It was very intrusive and demanding information and would not let me out of that do loop. I felt very much like I was being marketed into silos. I gave up on the setup process when I realized the app/developer wasn’t interested in what I wanted. It’s a pity because this is a space that needs something new. We consumers of news want to consume it in our own way, not the way the News vendors desire it.

Why do I have to set up an account and log on to read news??? Ridiculous. Won’t ever do that. This app stinks.
  • Dark mode is broken

When I’m in dark mode and then I open this app the screen flashes white for a few seconds. Super frustrating! It’s dark mode! Don’t show me a completely white screen
