Dorland’s has been my favorite since the 1980’s, because the definitions are clear in a full-bodied way that doesn’t leave info out. The major competitor is Steadman’s, which I find a little dry.

Dorlands is the best dictionary in my opinion. I’ve used Mosby’s, Stedman’s, and still like Dorland’s best. Did medical transcription for 20+ years and had dozens of reference books.
