If you're on an Intel mac and want to export presentations with videos as movie files, avoid this update.

After convincing my startup office Keynote was best, I can suddenly no longer work on investor/partner slide decks because I have a Mac that is stuck using only a 2 year old operating system. UNBELIEVABLE. This literally could cost us money. And for what? What amazing new feature requires an Apple Silicon chip? Looks/works the same. I can work with their decks fine offline, just not online and share. Ludicrous!
  • The latest update sets Keynote back.

Keynote is my go to for creating promotional material for various work projects, but the latest update has removed some needed functionality. I regularly use the background removal for photos, but in the latest version, it leaves a very visible border that's nearly difficult to fully remove. Before, it didn't leave this border. That's just one example. There are others related to exporting, and other features I've regularly used. Any idea if this will be addressed or fixed soon?

good for making slideshows for teaching lots of backgrounds
  • Gradient issue

The 13.2 update has made it so any gradients with lowered opacity show as a full opacity black box, blocking the image it's covering. I had to figure out a work around with just a shape with lower opacity, but it doesn't make as nice of an effect. This defintely needs to be fixed.
  • Remains superior to PowerPoint

I've used all of the major office suites out there. Keynote is by far the best presentation app. It's not just easier to use and less cluttered than the MS counterpart, but the animations and transitions are beautiful. I'm always asked what program I use to create my presentations!
