  • Opinion of SJ-R

By it is my nickname since 1950
Wish Police Beat was back. It would make the paper a lot thicker & much more entertaining.
  • Great format for electronic newspaper

App works well and makes it easy to flip pages, zoom in on articles, read the comics, see the other extra features that are available, and even go back to see past editions.

I wish there was more Springfield content. I don’t live in Peoria or Quincy or any of the other places that are outside of a 30 mile radius of Spfld so I’m not interested in what’s happening there. If I was I’d subscribe to their local paper. I would like more Spfld & local area news. There is a lot of USA Today content which takes away from local stories too. Other than sports the majority of the stories are not local coverage. Also the AP & USA Today stories are sometimes cut off in mid sentence. So what’s the point in printing it if you can’t print the entire story? Just filling space, I guess. Last issue is the way the e-edition loads…..It doesn’t! I’ll be reading & all of a sudden the page won’t load. I look down & it says it’s off line. I have to power down my device & restart it to get the paper to load and this happens a couple of times each day. All of these problems can be fixed, I subscribe to a couple of national papers & have never had these issues. With all the money that’s being saved by not having local reporters, having digital papers, etc you should be able to spend a little on at least having the site work well. A 50+ years SJ-R subscriber.

Does what I need it to.
  • Puzzles.

Paper is generally good but we like to print off puzzles and ability to print them individually is quite inconsistent. When several together for printing they are small for reading the crossword clues.
  • Easy to use.

  • Great Gatehouse Media App

The app is easy to navigate, even if a little sensitive…but all apps are. I also like the USA Today extra at the end.

This app is disabled on my phone but accessible on my iPad. It is disabled on my wife’s iPad but is accessible on her phone. I am trying to delete the app but can’t find how to accomplish that.

Having moved from the Springfield area, I enjoy keeping up with the Springfield community on a daily basis. The fact that USA Today is included helps to keep me up to date on national news as well.
