Really enjoy Strava. It’s a cross between Garmin Connect and Facebook. Just have to be careful as it’s logging where you went.

You default to allowing too much information sharing.
  • New update creates fake goals for free users

I updated the app and now I have a goal that is locked at 30 miles/week. I never set this, and it’s annoying because it’s way less than I ride. Have a free version or don’t. Don’t purposely put bugs in it to force free users to pay. That’s bad form.
  • Regressing as an App

They updated the map a while back and the quality regressed quite a bit. Now I cannot zoom without it spinning direction every which way/off north. Highly annoying and makes the map unusable. Additionally they got rid of the compass/ and the ability to tap to reset to north facing up. Further, mywindsock App no longer works with Strava although it reportedly should. I have tried every possible thing to get my windsock data to load to my activities and it won’t. The issue seems to be with Strava, not my windsock. The integrated weather data is terrible and highly inaccurate. Hence why I use my windsock. What was once a social based app is going backwards in that department as well, defaulting people’s privacy settings to private for everything. This app is regressing/ getting worse and going backwards.
  • Race Prediction is Laughable

Why even roll this out? Do you really want people to hate the app? The “Athlete AI” is a joke. So, just take your latest easy run pace and that’s your marathon race pace? What a joke! Coros is so much more sophisticated.

I like Strava most of the time , however, it’s extremely irritating when someone keeps flagging segments as hazardous simply because they lose the KOM. Your needs to be away to refute this.
  • Paywall

Everything that used to be free is locked behind a paywall. I understand it’s a business, but Theres is almost ZERO stats available to look at anymore without an EXPENSIVE subscription
