Costco

The app worked for me initially. Perfect! Don’t have to fight the store crowds right? Then all of the sudden, the app won’t let me acknowledge my location in my country so I can’t even get logged in?! I’ve removed and reinstalled so many times over WEEKS and nothing works.

I am a longtime Costco member and I hate to have to use this app for my mobile purchases. It is comically slow, and sometimes I have to push the cart multiple times to see my items before completing the purchase. Sometimes some items just disappear from my cart and I lose a lot of time to search and add the items again. I hope Costco devs fix this app one day!

May 2025 - So, now my new iPhone with iOS 18.4.1 is still being mangled by this app. Purchasing fuel is awesome because I don’t even have to touch the fuel pump to interact with membership proof (QR) or payment method (Apple Pay, yay!), but now, my screen goes dark when I click the side button to activate the screen after I finish pumping gas. After some investigation, it appears the Costco® app smashes my display brightness to zero. I can revert it back to whatnot was: restart the phone or memorizing the screen gestures to FaceID unlock, swipe down to get to Control Center, and then readjust the brightness of the screen. Costco®, do better. Aug. 2020 - still no Apple Pay in the app or on Costco.com. Requiring the entry of a credit card number into yet another server waiting to be breached is neither a convenience nor good customer service. May 04, 2020 1) member number scanners have been down the past couple of weeks and I really hate the fact that associates literally grab the phone from me to manually type in the number. You know, in certain jurisdictions, that can be considered theft. Either fix your scanners to read the membership number off the smartphones or ask your members to read the number off of the screen. Be polite. Makes me wonder where some of these associates learned their manners. 2) Apple Pay is still not an option for Costco.com purchases. Seriously. If the Food Court can take Apple Pay, I’d expect the IT squirrels would’ve figured out how to offer Apple Pay via the app for Costco.com purchases. Lost two stars there, Costco. Finally got a digital card; unfortunately, it’s still a QR code to scan. It’d be much more seamless if the digital card can work like Rite-Aid’s solution: can be “read” visually (so one can get into the warehouse); and then then transmitted via NFC / Apple Wallet (at the checkout line) or scanned via QR (at the checkout line). Of course, Apple Pay should be enabled for online orders via the app, too. I recall when I would ask the checkers when Apple Pay would be accepted. Most derisively said, “They’re working on it,” barely giving it any thought. I love how I can now purchase a bunch of items and then pay with Apple Pay before they can even begin interacting with the next customer, like they always do to begin scanning the membership card. All of a sudden they _like_ that Apple Pay payments are faster than even the chip-and-PIN and swipe cards. SMH … Almost there, Costco!

Cart will reset, clear all items, lose items without reason or warning. Critical bug that needs to be fixed.

Why is my old credit card not able to be removed from app and continues to default to it even though new one has been added to payment method. Called customer service they had to issue a ticket, told me it might update in 24 hours, it’s been a week. Please review this problem!

By the day. Consistently blown away at how impossible it is to find something as simple as butter on this app. The search bar is useless. Every search directs you to same day delivery which, even if you can find the product you’re looking for, has next to no information about it. How do people find this app is functional let alone rate it 5 stars? Other than scanning your membership, it will do nothing more than waste your time.

Not sure what the problem is. Maybe I will take it off the tablet and re-install and see if that helps. Used to work really well!

For a billion dollar company that supposedly values efficiency, they sure don’t follow through. This app is terrible - SLOW and BUGGY which is a huge pain trying to get into the store now that they force you to scan your membership QR code and when trying to look at reviews of products its so aggravating that I just quit and bought elsewhere. You can’t look through review photos, the arrow button just doesn’t work, and it traps you in whatever review you tap so instead of simply going back to the list of reviews it throws you out of the product page completely. Top it all off with the absolutely ridiculous checkout process and limitations on cards accepted, I think I’m done with Costco completely. Won’t be renewing.

Always super slow to load, gimmicky at its best. Slow responding. I mean I could go on and on. Makes shopping from app very frustrating and long when it should be a few clicks here and there.
