Firstly, I absolutely love this app and how it functions. It is wonderful. With that in mind, I tried the 14 day free trial for Super Duolingo, and was told I would be alerted 2 days before the subscription would charge to my account. After digging through my email, I can confirm that I did not receive the email in question. While I certainly could have kept better track of when the trial was over myself, I was banking on their promise to let me know. Anyway, they charged me $80, and Apple says it is non-refundable. Big bummer.
  • All my progress was deleted

So I love the app, as well as the language I was learning, but one day, I went into said app for another lesson, only to find out all my progress was deleted. I never scheduled a deletion though, so I’m not sure why this happened. All my progress and gems are now gone, and I don't know any way to get it back, so thats lovely

Ok so there are tons of great things about Duolingo but I will tell you all of them first the streaks I have a 950 day streak and it is amazing 🤩 2nd there are tons of different languages to learn 3rd how easy it is to learn such a complicated language 4th this is kind of a personal one but me and my best friend are learning the same language and its super fun 5th last one even though there are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooomany IT IS SUPER FUN!!! I am now going to tell you one thing to improve on so there is speaking in to it listening typing there is a bunch of activity’s but I thought you could add books to read like just simple books but in French. Anyways I hope you can do that thank you. I have had Duolingo to now from 2012 anyways just saying. Bye

I really like duolingo its helped me a lot in learning new languages, but if you let duolingo send you notifications they send like 12 per day. Also it has a glitch tha if you pass an egg and you don’t play for 1 week it starts over at thet egg, so it takes longer to learn because you keep learning the same thing. He rest is great, they teach you a lot in many ways. Thank you, Mari36things

  • If you are disabled be warned

If you are disabled and have hand tremors it takes hearts for typos and makes you feel super discouraged. They need a feature where you can have more typos if you have issues or some way to make it less of a penalty. I have an 18 day streak and it just seems to be getting worse for me. I finished my last lesson crying in frustration. As the person I talked to said you can pay for unlimited hearts. So, it is free and easy to use I assume if you are not disabled. I don’t have that privilege so my experience is disheartening.

I’m learning Spanish and the lessons so far have been good. When you make a mistake the app will give you another try with the mistake further down the lesson. It has a good mix of speaking, writing and matching. And the “books” are awesome! You follow along and they ask you questions after reading the dialogue to see how well you comprehended it. It’s great because it makes you feel more confident, in my opinion. The only thing I don’t care for in this app is that some of the characters have a bad attitude. I know they are just cartoons and it doesn’t affect my learning, I personally don’t like poor attitudes especially when I just answered the lesson correctly. Just my opinion though.
  • Super Duolingo scam

Be careful if you decide to try Super Duolingo. It doesn’t actually remind you 2 days before it charges you like it says. And when it says it’s $6/month in the app- they’re gonna charge you $14. Also if you click to end it subscription in the app that doesn’t end it- you have to unsubscribe in your phone settings as well. It’s a great app, but that is seriously shady.
