  • Annoying-Date does not start at midnight

    Raindrops date for rain tracking starts in the morning (not at midnight of the ACTUAL calendar date). For example, if my location gets rain at 3:00 am ET on May 1st, it’s recorded as getting rain on April 30th, because apparently RainDrop’s dates start and ends in the morning. Why is this? Just make the date be the date that starts and ends at midnight like the rest of the world please!

    RainDrop under estimates daily rainfall totals by 20-50 percent. For example, today’s total in the old fashioned rain gauge measured 3.35”. RainDrop estimated was 1.78”. It’s a nice app for a general overview but not precise information.

    I live in the PNW on the coast. A LOT of rain here, and this app referred by a friend looks like just the ticket looking for.

    We got over 6” of rain in the last 72 hours and this app only show we got 3”. I am deleting this app.

    Great idea and design but isn’t accurate. I farm and have 15 rain drop locations and it’s a guess at best. It rain about .2 over a large portion of the county and it didn’t register anything. There are free apps that will give you guesses like this one.

    This app has been my go to ever since I found it. It’s great to see how much it’s rained without having to drive to the job site to look at a rain gauge. And how much it rained over time as well. Of course there will be times when it’s off a little. We’ve all seen the times when we’re standing in the yard and it’s raining across the street. All in all, this app is the best thing since sliced bread.

    First of all, I want to say how easy this app is to use. It’s clean, well organized, and intuitive. I wish there was a more obvious way to see the calendar view, but otherwise it’s wonderful. I noticed rain tracking that seemed to be off a bit day to day and reached out using the built in support chat (amazing and well built also!) where I got a response that they are currently aggregating 0800 each day but are shifting to midnight to improve “daily” totals. Great news for usability and will help our kiddos weather tracking project for accuracy. Thank you RainDrop team. Keep up the amazing work.
