  • You can Enjoy without Spending Money

    This is one of the few free-to-play game that you can really enjoy. It’s just unbelievable. When you start the game, you have a 10-draw that guarantees a UR drop, and you can try unlimited times until you found the Gundam you like. I recommend keep trying until you have 1UR and 3SSR, or 2UR. As a new player you also get tons of diamonds for free. You need to spend 3000 diamonds to do a 10-draw. UR drop is quite common for me, I spent 0 money so far and I already have like 10+ UR. These UR helps me to beat the story and continue beating higher difficulty, which unlock new SSSR (golden) MS. You also get tons of diamonds watch the story and some animations for free.

  • Fun but very stingy

    The gameplay is similar Fire Emblem. Move units on tiles, but instead of choosing weapons, you have different attacks with different energy costs and range. Simple and fun. HOWEVER… There are some things that really need to be fixed. - The skip function. You’re limited to 3 skips per stage per day. Maybe on the hard mode stages where you grind for SSR units I can see that making sense, but not on regular stages. Because you can replay any normal/hard stage as long as you have stamina, so limiting skips is just a nuisance. - No monthly pass or battle pass. For many people a monthly pass is a nice way to toss a few bucks to the devs and say thanks while getting a good deal on currency. This is one of the few games I’ve seen that doesn’t have that, and the prices for the normal packs are atrocious. - Speaking of currency, you get a pittance. 50 diamonds for dailies, 50 when you clear a stage for the first time, 100 every 7 days (no weekly or monthly missions), and 1,000 when you finish an entire storyline. A single 10-pull costs 3,000, and pity to select a unit is at 200 (60K diamonds!). - ZERO DIAMONDS FROM EVENTS. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. This is made worse by the fact that on the limited banner you can’t even use summon tickets; it HAS to be diamonds. - No option to turn off animations. I find this so weird. I absolutely hate having to press the skip button every single time I attack. Like… the animations are nice and all, but the later stages are just so flooded with enemies, you just want to clear them out as quickly as you can. This is one of the strangest omissions since Arknights didn’t have a “collect all” button for its daily items. - Another way the game is like Fire Emblem is the annoying unannounced reinforcements. You kill so many enemies then poof, a dozen more pop up instantly. This is so annoying because you might have just used your last unit’s turn, or drained their energy on what looked like the last enemy. Or maybe your counterattack killed enough people to trigger reinforcements and you essentially have a second wave of enemies taking their turn consecutively. I am very disappointed, given the long wait for this game. Until they drastically up the income and implement some much needed QoL features, I can’t recommend this game.

    Honestly playing this game is so much fun and the game offers so much it’s hard to believe it’s free!! Can’t wait for them to add more gundam stories and mobile suits but as is right now there’s a lot it offers the only micro transactions in the game are for specific mobile suits like a gacha mechanic but it’s not bad loving the game!!

    Alright, with that silly title out of the way, yes the game is good. If you’re new to gundam, it gives you the quickie notes of what each series is about instead of watching a 30min video on Youtube just to figure out what the main character’s name is. The game is a marathon but they give you enough free currency to build a decent team and from there you can work on what kind of team you want in the long run which is nice.

    When the game was first announced, many people were skeptical and upset that it was a gacha game instead of being a mainline console game. I am happy to say that you definitely do NOT need to spend a single cent in the game to get a good and enjoyable experience. You would just have a slower progression than the whales, but the core SD Gundam experience is there for ALL free players to enjoy. The current slate of gacha units are mainly from side series from what I can tell. This may or may not change in future, but as of 2 weeks after launch, I would heartily recommend this game if you are an SD Gundam fan.
