You already decided to cut back. You do not need a course, a coach or a community to do it. You need an honest record of what you actually drank, and the reason attached to it. Nightjar is a private drink log. No account, no sign-up, no server of ours. Your log lives on your phone and backs up to your own private iCloud. WHAT YOUR HEAVIER NIGHTS HAVE IN COMMON Most trackers give you a number. Nightjar reads your own log back to you and tells you what the heavier days share: a weekday, a place, a person, an occasion, a mood. "Fridays at The Anchor with Marco. 4.8 on average, against 1.0 on your other days." It says nothing until the numbers support it, and it never claims one thing caused another. These are things that show up together in your log. That is all they are. LOG IT THE WAY YOU ACTUALLY DRINK One tap from Today, the Home Screen widget, or a Lock Screen control. Exact volume and strength. A 4.5 oz cocktail is 4.5 oz, not "3.5 or 5". Set the pour in fl oz or ml and the ABV to one decimal, and Nightjar works out the standard drinks. Every drink carries its own timestamp, so a night reads as a night and not as a lump sum. Name your own drinks. Add, edit, reorder and delete your presets, so "Old Fashioned" says more than "Spirit, 1.0" will a month from now. THE REASON, NOT JUST THE NUMBER Every day takes one note and a few tags for who you were with, where you were, what the occasion was, and how you felt. Six weeks later, "Why did I drink four that Tuesday?" has an answer. YOUR LIMIT, NOT A STANDARD ONE Set a weekly limit in your own units. The month calendar colours every day against that limit, so a heavy week is visible at a glance instead of buried in a total. Standard drinks in US (14 g), metric (10 g) or UK units (8 g). Streaks, dry days, money spent and calories, with a plain explanation of what each number counts and what it leaves out. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account and no sign-up. Nothing reaches a server of ours. Your log syncs through your own private iCloud, and you can turn that off in the Settings app. Face ID or your passcode can lock the app. The Home Screen icon says Nightjar and nothing else. Export everything to CSV whenever you want. Write your drinks to Apple Health if you choose to. ONE PURCHASE Your log is free to read and edit forever. Every day, every note, every drink, with no cap on how far back you can scroll. Nightjar will never put your own history behind a paywall. The one thing you buy is Patterns, the reading of your log. One purchase, once. No subscription, no renewal, no tiers. A FAQ inside the app answers eighteen questions honestly, including the awkward ones: calories count the alcohol only and undercount every cocktail, the money total is only as good as the prices you enter, and a pattern is co-occurrence and not a cause. Nightjar diagnoses nothing, treats nothing, and is not medical advice.
