I’ve seen too many reviews of people complaining that it’s not Google Maps or Waze. Then just use Google Maps and Waze, it’s not complicated. I use TomTom go for that reason alone. Waze is too much of a game, Google Maps is turning into Waze trying to navigate through neighborhoods to avoid a traffic light, and Apple Maps is getting better but it’s still not quite there. TomTom GO is a basic, simple navigation app and that’s exactly why it’s great. Just directs you where you need to go, the rest want to have a conversation with you “you could have taken this street but it’s closed so we’re navigating another way”. You have to download maps and while it takes a lot of time during set up because it can’t be skipped, it’s nice being able to navigate somewhere when you don’t have service because you forgot to download it before and didn’t know the signal would be so terrible. Please don’t change TomTom.

10/3/25 Since you appear robe focused on trucks in the re-branded app and renamed the amigo app to the free app(formerly amigo), why not allow users of the go expert app to sync there favorites from one app to the other. Review 9/30/25 It’s not clear what improvements were made in this update. Multi drop routing or adding waypoints was already available . What happens to the Siri Beta you were working on two years ago to allow CarPlay users to ask Siri fog directions on the TomTom app? Speed limits Get your speed limits up to date. No excuse for a major app like TomTom. I just cancelled my Jeep Connected serviced nav subscription for this reason. You’ve got to focus on this as a firm. Allow users to submit issue based on a particular route. Allow the user to identify the particular step or steps that are wrong on the screen showing the route directions. The traffic info is excellent, but the speed limit issues are unacceptable. For a major player like TomTom it’s surprising how inaccurate your speed limit info is. I see this inaccuracy in the Jeep connected services for Uconnect 5 and I see it in the smartphone app. You have no easy way to report these inaccuracies, especially in a paid for app. I might as well use Here We go app for the offline capability. Apple Z maps, Google Msps, and Waze are much more accurate. In addition, your instructions many times don’t take you direct to the destination (door to door), sometimes your stop is in a shopping center off a hwy feeder road. TomTom will direct you to a point on the feeder road and say you’ve reached the destination? But the actual destination is still another 500 feet away. Examples are 14309 n Sam Houston pkwy e, Houston , Texas for Menchie’s. The speed limit error example is on FM1960 road from Hwy 59 feeder road into Humble. The sped limit is 50 mph, but the app goes from 30 to 60, There are many other examples. If I’m going to pay for a app, at least have it accurate.

Will this app ever have the ability to include user created POI’s

Tomtom is just not on the level of waze maps. Probably because the traffic is not as live and there aren’t as many users using tomtom as their are waze. I hate how you have to download the maps. I don’t have to do that on waze, google maps, or Apple Maps. Tomtom needs to do more to try to be #1. If tomtom wants to be the best maps they have to get a ahead. And to do that probably means creating new mapping technology before other mapping companies do. Good navigation but like I said I hate to have to download the maps. I was hoping to find an alternative to the standard map apps, as I won’t use Google and Apple Maps has become progressively less usable (just try to navigate pins and saved places across platforms!), so I was willing to pay a well-known third party to try their navigation in CarPlay. Unfortunately this isn’t it. The maps seem ok, and the interface has some interesting elements - like a progress bar to your destination with distance to gas stations (although how often do you need that to be a permanent map element?) - but the voicing for turn by turn is atrocious compared to Siri and the Google voice. The “computer” voices that can announce street names talk in a stilted manner circa 2010 and even mispronounce simple common street names like “Whatever Ave” (“Whatever ayve”). There’s also no mention of live traffic rerouting, though I guess it’s possible it exists, and no browser or desktop-based companion. What I really want is simply to be able to create my own routes like you’ve been able to do forever using drag and drop in Google Maps desktop, then sync those specific routes to your phone. Oh well, back to Apple Maps I go, and hope that it can eventually clean up the pinned locations and sync the desktop and mobile apps properly. And, maybe, someday allow me to just make my own routes without clunky waypoints.

Please fix the bug, or add code such that navigation can be started with Siri command in CarPlay mode. This is available in other free apps.

The map data in United States is so inaccurate so many missing roads and wrong roads names even that I reported to mapshare you still fix them but traffic avoidance works very well
