Don’t do the new update. Crashes immediately on opening.
  • Good when it works

The app itself is fine, it’s the subscription aspect that is the problem. Even though I’m signed in, I can’t always read the for subscribers only articles. I’ll sign out and sign back in but still no access. Also they make it very difficult to cancel the subscription.

Great sports reporting. I can follow all my hometown teams and know all the current issues for pro and college sports. Live in Denver, CO.

I grew up in reading this newspaper Metro Detroit. Now living in the SF Bay Area, it's still my go-to for news and sports. The app is fantastic and easy to navigate.
  • Stop emailing me

    By hevvah
Every time i try to unsubscribe, i get error messages. Customer service doesn’t respond. You’ve subscribed me to updates from freep, gannet, USA Today network and maybe some others. I tried to support local journalism but now im getting bombarded with spam

  • Sad I need to pay to read about my favorite teams

    By Detroit scoop
Not happy I need to pay to read about Detroit teams. I live in California but I’m a big fan of the tigers, lions, red wings, pistons and all college teams and my favorite (go blue Michigan) It’s not the money just the principal
  • Used to love won’t pay for it

    By Thomasdoll
Used to be my go-to app for news especially all about Detroit. Now, I can’t even read a few articles without asking for a subscription that I pay for and am billed. Restoring purchases option does not fix it. Fix your APP!!!
  • The Detroit News

Except for their misguided and misinformed editorial endorsement of Joe Biden for president in the 2020 election, The Detroit News is the best!
