  • Good content, bad app

This app still crashes if you have a lesson video maximized, go to another app, then return. Like, for instance, if you check a message. Its a pity because the lessons are quite good but the app is rubbish.
  • UI needs an update

The site contains a lot of stuff, but it is difficult to get around. There is no auto play for the videos and no indication to move forward after the video is done. And when I open the app, it shows the last video viewed, but shows nothing about the course progress. The UI needs an update!!

This App is easy to use and sync with TV for better viewing and control than just watching from the phone internet.
  • Good Instruction but App Needs Improvement

The instructional videos are good, and the instructors are good, but it’s difficult to pick up where you left of. I find I have to go back into several old lessons to find where I left off. When you are playing an exercise in the app, the notation doesn’t scroll as you advance. It does scroll as you advance on the website. On the website you can tap the screen to back up 15 seconds if you miss something, but you can’t on the app. You have to grab the progress slider and move it back, which usually ends a being a lot more than you wanted. No matter which one I use, the app or the website, it should be easier to pickup where you left off. Each chapter has 6 or 8 lessons, and each lesson has multiple sections. I’m not usually able to complete all parts of a lesson in one sitting, and that’s where returning to where you left off because a hassle. Other training software I use takes me make to exactly where I left off.If there is a lesson or practice exercise you want to return to you can’t mark it as a favorite on the app, but you can on the website. Even though I like the instruction, I don’t like how difficult it is to navigate. I will probably cancel and use another instructional service with a nicer interface that’s easier to use.

So far I really like it. I can’t make in person sessions except for weekends and they’re pricey. Only issue is the new version isn’t on the Apple TV app and streaming from my iPad to TV isn’t too convenient. Other than that it’s great

I have been trying to learn the guitar for 15 years now. I am on my first month of playing and I already know four songs I have learned more in one month than I learned the entire 15 years of playing. I highly recommend this program if you were to pay someone to give you lessons, they would charge you $30 for an hour, then that’s only for one hour. This you get unlimited everything for 20 bucks they don’t move too fast and you can slow down the speed of the lecture. I figured out how to print off the tabs so I can practice it even when I’m not online I have so much practicing to do before. I can move forward with the next lesson because that’s how much we have covered in about three weeks I can’t keep up with these guys and I don’t have to go. Let me go at my own pace. I am confident that I will be playing the guitar in no time thank you guitar tricks.

Your app used to have scales, chords and other reference materials, now nothing that I can find. I bought another membership so I could have access to the materials and feel like I got ripped off because these have been removed.
  • This is the only one that worked for me

Ive tried to self teach my self electric guitar 4 times and i always put it down and get aggravated. Until i found guitar tricks that is. Ive been playing 21 days now and i am actually remembering the things they teach on there. So it feels way more natural to play and i actually feel like im making momentum and maintaining traction with this. Cant complain about a thing. Im able to fully learn and remember a chord in less than an hour. Its not clean but i dont forget them. Thats hasnt happened any other way that ive tried. Very happy!

My biggest complaint is that the video doesn’t automatically turn when the phone is turned. My next complaint is the camera shot on the videos doesn’t really provide clarity of finger placement. Other than that I love the walk through of each vid. Over all great teaching tool.
