    We’ve been using our pact since 2021 when our oldest got a phone, and now use it for all three of our kids phones. I won’t tell someone how to parent, but will definitely recommend not allowing your child under 16 to have access to the internet. It’s an endless supply of information that can be traumatizing to a child. Social media is the worst thing for a kid. This app allows you to block all of that. Personally don’t like the premium +, as we tried it for two months. We put in specific words that were supposed to be flagged, but never were. The screen shots are useless as you child has to open the app when requested. So don’t bother with the extra subscription. You can utilize the $6.99 by blocking apps, setting schedules and check locations(if you don’t share location with your kids). We love the schedule feature, it’s beneficial for discipline and responsibility. I recommend this app highly and think everyone that has a kid with a phone should use this. We dropped one star because of the premium + subscription, wish it worked as described.

  • Unworkably bad

    I rue the day that I first heard about this app. My son and I had grown tired of Apple's atrocious Screen Time feature and were both looking forward to something that would allow us a more refined measure of control and OurPact seemed to fit the bill nicely. Unfortunately, this software is broken and unreliable in ways that are difficult to count. Even installing the Device Management stub on the client phone took weeks due to a series of issues that renders it unable to be installed from a Mac of even moderately recent vintage. Once past that, there are so many issues with buggy, broken, nonsensical or flat out poorly implemented features that after hours of struggling with getting things set up properly, my son had a device that had been both reset and crippled and there was nothing that could be done via the parental control app that could address any of these issues. On the positive side, I found their support department to be helpful, professional and easy to work with. Unfortunately, there was little they could do in the face of software that was so poorly implemented. My son and I are now back to Screen Time and just gritting our teeth.

  • Stopped working

    I’ve been using OurPact for 2+ years now. It stopped working one random day after autorenew didn’t autorenew. I tried renewing and couldn’t. The tried contacting customer service… there is no phone number. The app is decent but frustrated with just trying to pay and use it.

  • No longer works

    App is easy for kids to now by pass. Along with it no longer works. It stopped blocking apps on both my kids phones. Everything is updated. I tried removing a reinstalling it, but still no luck. Don’t waste your money and look for another app. This one is trash.

  • Made my son hate me

    Please do not get this app. I downloaded this for my son’s phone thinking it would help and he would spend more time connecting with people. I now see in hindsight that this was a terrible idea. I feel very bad for putting this on my son’s phone he now hates me and hasn’t talked to me for days. The last time he talked to me I was telling him there would be consequences and he looked up at me and said “what more could you take away from me”. Since I got this app only bad things have resulted from it and I regret ruining my relationship with my son over me wanting more control. To any parents that are considering this, Apple screen time is a lot better for the kid and easier to work with. Please do not get this app.

    We have had this app FOR YEARS with no issues. I’ve recommended it to dozens and dozens of parents over the years. I’ve been working on adding a device to our profile for almost an hour. Install this, change that password. It’s so frustrating that this app we’ve loved and promoted has become so cumbersome. The benefits do not outweigh the device adding hoops. Do better. It used to be you just connected your child’s device to by USB to a computer, install Outpact, and done. Why do I have to have iTunes installed on my computer?! This will be our last year. I want something streamline and hassle. This was that and is now no longer.

  • Ruined me and my child’s relationship

    I downloaded this, hoping to strengthen my teenage daughter and I’s relationship because I had full control over her phone and her personal life. She suddenly didn’t want to talk to me and locked herself up in her room. Obviously, I didn’t find anything bad, so I had no idea why she was mad at me. I realized I had no trust in my daughter and that’s why she was distant and resentful towards me and my husband. It was harmful. Don’t use it if you love your kids to death! (Unless they’re very young… then that is very necessary.)

  • Only works 50% of the time

    The app only works half the time. If I try to grant access during a blocked time frame, it just gives you a rainbow wheel and nothing happened. Eventually it just resets but no changes are made. Same thing happens if you try to modify a schedule….it says it works but then after about 10 minutes the app will show the old schedule.

  • Pain to pair

    Once you compare, it’s good. But trying to pair it is a major pain. You have to use your computer. Instead of your phone to complete the set up. If you don’t have iTunes on your computer then… You cannot complete it. It should not be this difficult.
