  • Found 11 half siblings!

My father was a sperm donor and my entire life I’ve always been curious. I’ve tried contacting the lab my mother went to, and went through all her old paperwork but ended up nowhere. As a last ditch effort I ordered an Ancestry DNA kit, hoping to maybe find a cousin or two. I wound up finding 11 half siblings who had the same donor, and the donor himself! I guess they all knew each other already and when my information popped up in the Ancestry database we were all connected. Definitely would recommend to people in a similar situation!
  • My Amazing Ancestry Results

Getting my ancestry results back was so exciting and it was my first time taking an ancestry DNA test. The reason I decided to do this because I wanted to find out where my ancestors came from and find out my characteristics. The results came back and a huge portion of my DNA comes from Western, Northern, and even some parts of Eastern Africa which I thought was cool! But the surprising results was that I’m 1% Native American and 7% Scottish which was a huge surprise for me. I had no idea! Ancestry DNA does an amazing job showing the regions on the map as of where your ancestors may have came from, and what I like as well is that it shows who you are related to. It shows who you have a common DNA with and I have so many family members all over the U.S. AncestryDNA is amazing and I’ll definitely recommend it to anyone! Five Star Baby!

Overall, this app had been on path of continuous improvement, and I would have given it 4 or 5 stars. It actually performs far better than their website for many search tasks. However, this app has gone into constantly badgering me to add a profile pic (my profile is as complete as I want it to be, full stop). Please cease this badgering.

I have not had my results very long but compared to my sisters results from 23 & me they seem to have more info up front than Ancestry does,it seems every piece of info cost more, will see how it is in a few months.
