Updated version tampered all the default font and size I previously set, and there is no where to set default Chinese and English font separately. I want old version back. I want old version back. Microsoft, give the old version back.
  • Bad, Bad and Bad!

The new outlook lost functions, will not integrate with Teams for non Work or School users. Does not support Yahoo calendar and Contacts. Does support Gmail. Copilot is as bad as Siri. I have to use my Mac mail and calendar to fill in the gap. My M365 personnel account is NOT worth the money. Did I already say bad!

I love the colors that I get to choose for the background. I just don’t like how the side where it says “Favorites” and you gmail, it gets too small but I like how small it is for the emails on the right side, I wish there was a choice where I can make them both not the same text size.

For some reason finding things is so difficult, I know this email is there, but it doesn’t show up

Outlook for Mac doesn’t respect my time. It’s a bad experience. The user input lag is very high. Sometimes when I drag on the calendar to create a new event it takes a full second for the UI to catch up, leading to a cycle of try/retries that waste my time. You can’t view categories in the sidebar. So for every category you want to be able to quickly find you need to create a saved search. This is a waste of time. Sometimes Outlook lets you snooze a message and sometimes it doesn’t. This is confusing and I have to waste time figuring out which magical conditions are needed for snooze to work. Advanced search is a joke. I’ve got a 4K screen yet the option to search a category is hidden (not very advanced). You can type your categories in as text if manually building a query, but there’s no auto-complete so I hope you can remember every category, verbatim. Waste of time. I like that Outlook on iOS has a feature that lets me easily send my availability as an email to someone. That feature isn’t available in Outlook for Mac. In fact, there’s quite a feature parity gap between the platforms which is a poor user experience. I often find myself wasting my time trying to do something that can’t be done because I’ve become used to doing it in other versions of Outlook. If I didn’t have to use Outlook for work I’d never touch it. It really is the most painful piece of software I use and every time I open it a small piece of me dies inside. It’s email. It should be easy and fast. Outlook is neither.
  • Big Gaudy Slop Buttons Everywhere

Latest update added a “Copilot” button to the toolbar. Copilot can be turned off, but the button cannot be removed from the toolbar. It is the only button in the toolbar that uses color instead of a monochromatic outline, so it is nothing but a big, ugly, useless, distraction at the top of the screen. Hey Microsoft, putting a big gaudy button in the top toolbar AND the lefthand toolbar isn’t going to make people want to use your terrible copyright infringement machine. If you must cram this junk into the app, at least let us get rid of it. One star out of five is FAR too generous a rating for this garbage.
  • Unreliable and Dangerous

Microsoft has managed to make email untrustworthy. The Outlook app will flat out lie to you. If you want to know what it’s like to live in constant uncertainty of not knowing if that critical email you carefully drafted and sent actually sent, then this is the app for you. If you want your emails to just send every time, look for something else. Outlook will tell you that an email has been sent, only for you to learn hours or days later that in fact it was never sent. Every time I send an email, I need to double check that it was actually sent by going to my phone or to the web-based mailbox. I have reset accounts, forced restarts, and clean installed. And when the application is reopened, I have literally watched as emails that were marked as sent vanish into the ether, with no way to recover. This horrific betrayal has caused genuine harm to my professional and academic obligations. Microsoft should be ashamed of pushing this product with such dangerous flaws. Email communications are a critical method of communication. Microsoft QC should be ashamed.

I love that outlook allows me to have all my emails come through to one inbox. I love the organization of it all.
