  • Great tool for exploring new networks

Folks at Pinkbike have done great job building up Trailforks trail database, and giving app some really useful features, like finding other user’s saved loops / courses that include a specific trail you are interested in. I do find the functional flow of the app to be rather disjointed & counterintuitive, however. It would be much easier to use if the navigational “hub” of the app were a single view of all trails & networks I’ve interacted with (ridden, rated, reviewed, saved, & wishlisted). Instead I have to hunt through multiple menus and screens to refresh my memory which of these compartmentalized categories might contain a trail / route I wish to revisit. 5 stars for useful and comprehensive trail info. 3.5 stars for disjointed interface.

Indispensable, especially in new trail sectors or regions.
  • Best Mountain Bike App?

I’ve been using this app for a few years and it keeps getting better. Following my rides on a map in real time, finding new trails, and recording my rides on the AppleWatch App (currently in Beta) where I can see miles and heart rate and a few other useful metrics. Everything syncs up AppleHealth. Perfect!

Trying to get a route I made on desktop to sync with app and keeps saying I’m not logged in even when I am. Can’t send to Garmin from app only desktop

Trailforks is almost as essential as having air in the tires. Especially when navigating new trail networks. Very well laid out and visually exceptional. And very well worth the annual subscription. Which helps good people do this good work. I am hoping eventually they can do for hiking trails what they have done for mountain bike networks.
  • Has potential, Needs better development.

Definitely needs Apple Watch integration. As of right now, I cannot download offline trail maps. I’m able to download the basic regions, such as Florida, Georgia and such, but not the specific trail locations. Removing Strava activity import to Trailforks was a big mistake. Not all off us want to use the Track My Ride apps. I prefer Cyclemeter with export to Strava. Not all apps have the same user interface and experience. For me to use Trailforks for tracking my activities, it would have to play a lot more friendly with other apps and services and provide more sensor connectivity; better data collection and export to apple health.
  • This app is frustrating

It will not keep me logged in and it keeps telling me to upgrade to premium when I already have premium. It won’t change from metric to imperial. They have increased the cost of this app and the operation and usability has gotten worse.
  • Great addition

Great addition to Outside magazine. It would be worth it even if it wasn’t included with Outside magazine.
  • Free edition works well

I love this app, I use it a lot! But it really needs an Apple Watch companion app.
