Description

Jordan Velsor didn’t want to need anyone. After dumping her cheating fiancé, caring for her sick dad, and nearly being crushed along with her car during a violent storm, she’s pretty much at her breaking point.  If anyone needs some luck, it's Jordan, but the last thing she wants is gorgeous Nick Rinaldi, her landlord’s grandson, hovering over her while she nurses a bad cold. The wounded Navy doctor seems too good to be true... which means he probably is.

Nick Rinaldi left the Navy broken and adrift, wondering if he would ever practice medicine again. When his grandparents' tenant is almost killed by a falling tree during a storm, he discovers Jordan is not only in shock, but suffering from pneumonia. Not one to miss an opportunity to play white knight,  Nick arrives at her cottage to take care of her during the storm... But the lovely teacher has a a fierce independent streak, and as he learns more about her, he wants to do more than merely help.

Can Jordan and Nick let go of their separate pasts and seize their future together?

This book is well written with fully developed characters. It was not rushed at the end. Loved meeting each character and how real there became. I would love to see what happened next. Finished the book in less than a day. Read it!

One thing I love most about reading is when an author creates a story that pulls me in. That connects me to the characters. Makes me feel a part of all that happens in their world. This author did not fail!! Jordan and Nick’s story wrapped itself around me. It pulled on my heart strings, chewed me up, and spit me out a better person. I cried with Jordan when it was time to say goodbye. I felt the guilt Nick lived with. But most of all I felt the love they shared. I’ve found myself a new favorite author and I look forward to reading more. Thank you for putting Jordan and Nick’s story on paper and not keeping it to yourself!!!

Dr. Nick is trying to mend from terrible injuries, both on the outside and the inside, which he received when he was deployed in war torn Afghanistan. He is staying with his beloved grandparents. He enjoys the ocean view but also the view of the beautiful woman who runs along the beach and resides in his grandparents’ cottage. Jordan is a solitary woman, and Nick learns that she has just come out of a relationship where the fiancé was caught cheating on her right before the wedding was to take place. Jordan’s trust in men is, understandably, in the dumper. These two battled scared people finally come together when Jordan becomes very sick and Doctor Nick swoops in to care for her and help her to overcome her serious illness, and proving to Jordan that there are some really good guys out there. Throughout this time, Nick realizes that he has some serious feelings for Jordan. Jordan is not as sure about her feelings. Longtime family myths, interfering good hearted family and friends, and an old compass that just might have some magical powers help these two very deserving people to find their way back to each other. This is a very sweet love story that also explores strong family ties bound by love. It does not disappoint.

This book had all the feels- I couldn’t put it down and fell a little in love with Nick myself. #Adulting is hard stuff and this couple had their fair share of things to work through….I loved watching them figure out their HEA!
