Similar to the hunger games except a dark pedophilic predatory spin on the games. It is a page turner and I am enjoying it very much. I disagree completely with the only review I read. It’s a very suspenseful and great read.

The book is very good to read

In a world fallen back into feudal ways, Elise has no choice when royal guards come to take her to the palace. Everyone knew the nobles chose the most accomplished teenagers from throughout the realm to infuse new blood into the palace. Somehow she thought living so far in the outreaches of the kingdom would keep her safe. Now that she knows different, she begins to learn even more about the inhabitants of the palace and the other “guests” who have joined her in her journey. While the story intrigues me and I have hopes for an unexpectedly brighter ending to their stories, I am wary of continuing this series. I fear the depravities that were hinted at in this volume might be elaborated on in the next. A couple of the characters may have worked their way into my heart and their future looks terrifying as it stands in the last chapter.

The best one I have read in a while. I loved it. I’m even going to buy the next one.

Interesting. If you liked The Hunger Games or the Divergent series you might like this. My only criticism is that there was very little in the way of action. The entire book felt like it was giving the background for the rest of the story to come in later books.

Character developing. Kept reading and page turning. Loved the detail. K

Good plot, OK writing. Easy read!

I read it from start to finish in one sitting. Very unique but a lot of unanswered questions.
