I throughly enjoyed this series. While I learn about WW II in school, the war in the Pacific was only covered briefly. By that I mean to say only the attack on Pearl Harbor, the battle of Midway, Iwo Jima, Gen MacArthur’s return to the Philippines and the dropping of the 2 atomic bombs were discussed. I learned so much more about the war from all sides. The US and the allies, Japanese and also the civilian lives and how if affected everyone. You read about what the common Soldier, Sailor, Airman, Marine on both sides lived through. The same with what the civilians lived through especially the Japanese civilians. I could go on and on, but that would spoil it. I highly recommend this to everyone who is interested in history.

This is the end cap of three outstanding volumes. Told in such detail that I feel I have a solid understanding of the entire Pacific War. It brings me great pride that each of my two grandfathers served in this theater for the United States Military. I highly recommend these books to anyone wanting to put in the time to fully grasp the nuances of this struggle, and what it took for the US to ultimately succeed.
